(Video Game Sale) Target

Xbox

Recommended Posts

Target (including Canada) is having their anniversary sale and most, if not all, video game and accessories are half price! If you're looking for a game or 2nd controller or something then now is the perfect time.

The new consoles are still full price.

Thanks. I'll go check it out today to see what it's all about.

No problem. It's a 20th anniversary sale. I was happily surprised Canada was included in this.

Picked up Ghosts for the One for 29.99 (my friends kept bugging me to get it).

For video games. the sale was largely limited to new PS4/XBONE games, and older PS3/360 games.

The only game I ended up getting for myself was scribblenauts unlimited on the 3DS for $7, lol. Good buy, but yeah. Some solid games for $7 for 360/PS3, if that's what you needed. Red Dead Redemption, Arkham City, and some others.

I went there just now. It's not a lot of games or controllers, really.

I was going to pick up FIFA 14 on PS4, but only the Xbox One is on sale for $30.

The only controller I seen that's on sale is the blue Dualshock 3's for PS3.

Last of Us on PS3 is half off though, and some other ones. I didn't go there and make a list or anything but from what I seen it's not as great as it's advertised.

The person there told me each store is selling based on stock though, so maybe if I go to a different Target they'll have other stuff on sale.

This deal sucks for PS4 games and accesories. It was decent for XB1and great for the Wii U. I ended up getting 2 Wiimotes for $20 each and 2 nunchucks for $10 each, also got $10 off the purchase because it cost $50+.

If you have a Wii U but don't have Wii Party U now is the time to go and get it. It costs $25 and it comes with a Wiimote.

The guy at my Target told me that HQ picks what games go on sale, so it doesn't matter which store you go to because they'll all have the same games on sale. The stock is just the amount of copies each store has, that would have nothing to do with what games go on sale. I have no idea why someone working there would tell you the sale is based on stock, it makes no sense really.

Tell us though if it happens to be that each store has different games on sale.

Im in Ontario so this won't help any of you, but the location I went to had every single item and accessory half price. And that's what the sale was supposed to be.

I managed to get CoD: Ghosts and FIFA 14 for Xbox One for $29.99 and $19.99 (they took $10 off because they were being difficult)

My friend got an Xbox One controller for 29.99 as well.

Yeah, they didn't have this at the Richmond location. Would've bought it for myself, knowing that it works with PC.

They did have the XB1 controller on sale for $30 at the Abbotsford location. All the PS4 has was Injustice for $20, all I wanted was NFS: Rivals for about $30.

This seems to be a confusing sale.

I believe you when you say HQ picks the games, but it's Target and it's an extremely unorganized store, at least in Canada. So much miscommunication among stores and HQ that I bet every store just put random crap on sale. My store confirmed they didn't really have a great idea what the sale was. I must of lucked out getting a store that believed the sale was everything. They really don't advertise what's on sale.

Proof: Friggen Wal-Mart had more customers than Target did on their own 20th anniversary sale! Target needs to get their sh** together or they won't last long here IMO. Even their website is hard to navigate. No search bar!

It seemed random as heck at the Coquitlam location. There was only around 15 or less items on sale and this was Wii U, PS4 and One combined. I thought it was weird that FIFA 14 was $30 on Xbox One but still full price on the PS4. The only sale I saw on PS4 games was Just Dance or whatever it was.

I think i can get Wal-Mart to price match the controller thing. I'll see in the morning.

Because Target doesn't list their shit online, they'd need to call them. And the store doesn't open until 9. Not waiting around for 2 hours, lol. I'll try later tonight.

I can't find anything online about this (I'm in the states and live some miles away from the closest Target, how long is the deal running for?)

Until the 26th i believe. I don't know any details for the states
