What about Burrows?

I've heard different proposals about trades to Florida to try to get a chance at their 1st.Why hasn't Burrows been mentioned.Yes he has a big cap hit but Florida has 30 million in cap space. The floor is 52 million this year and the Panthers are at 40.8.This comes down to trading him while he is still serviceable.I'm not sure that he and the twins will return to form and become the line they were before.Florida gets a former 30 goal scorer from one of the top lines in the league who can kill penalties. It clears another 4.5 million to shop free agency to sign some one to play with the twins. Also, depending on what Kesler brings back in return. That and our first first should get Talon thinking. If it seems over payment I can live with it.We've seen what playing safe at trades has gotten this stagnant team over MG's regime.3 coaches in 3 years speaks volumes does it not. Also don't mention Campbell. There is not a GM in the league taking on that little defensemans 7.5 million dollar salary.

Burrows is going to have a big rebound year and he has chemistry with the Sedins, until u find someone that also has Chemistry with the Sedins you shouldn't trade him unless your trying to tank.

I also think he is going to retire as a canuck and stay in organization.

12.8 S%

24 GW goals

More SH goals than PP goals

+122

Only 1 season playing less than 85% of games that season.

4 time 25 goal scorer.

Averages about 2 minutes on the PK per game.

Consistently a top Corsi and Fenwick player, and had an unheard of season in terms of injury, PDO and S% .

Burrows ain't going anywhere.

Cause he's a fan favourite and fans get emotionally attached

Or, more likely, because he's a workhorse who can be used in a variety of roles.

His work in front of the net and on the PK are invaluable and that versatility and willingness to do some of the dirty jobs is a huge asset. Then there's the fact that he can score, too (especially in clutch situations).

How about no.

Agreed. Burr had a bad year due to injuries. The whole team had a bad year due to coaching and management circumstances. We need to keep in mind the whole team went south for a reason. Good players do not all of a sudden just play terrible. Let's be realistic and face the facts that a psychological problem manifested itself throughout the whole team. It needs to now be repaired by the top end and that is why the house was swept clean in that regard.

Proposing Burr be replaced because he only scored five goals is superficial thinking at best.

Guy has an absolutely atrocious year in terms of injury, and then started to go on a tear when he was finally healthy. He's been a god-damned workhorse his entire career here and always has great underlying numbers and can literally play every forward position (not the best centre but he has done it).

You guys want to ship him out already?

Who is this "you guys" you're talkig about?

Every functioning canuck fan knows burr deserves a second chance.

And his broken bones and other injuries? New coach who failed to take us in the right direction? Convenient to ignore the facts and not allow for bounceback.

If they gave you a butter knife at work and told you to chisel an ice sculpture, you too may have trouble. How about the healthy Burr?...let's remember what he has done while assessing what he hasn't.
