[Qualifying Offer] Canucks send QO to Tanev and Kassian

Recommended Posts

As per CapGeek:

CHRIS TANEV'S QUALIFYING OFFER IS FOR $1,500,000.

Because his base salary of $1,500,000 is greater than or equal to $1,000,000, it does not receive an increase for the purposes of his qualifying offer.

NOTE: It must be a one-way qualifying offer if a) the player appeared in 180 or more NHL games in three previous seasons; B) the player appeared in 60 or more NHL games the previous season; and c) the player did not clear waivers during the previous season. Backup goaltender appearances count as games. Thresholds in a) and B) are altered for 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15 to account for the 2012-13 lockout-shortened season. They are as follows: 2012-13: 156 and 36, 2013-14: 156 and 60, and 2014-15: 156 and 60

I think he is worth a bit of a raise from $1.5.. I smell bridge contract

Don't see why they wouldn't just give them bridge contracts.

We have plenty of cap space and it's not like we're getting any expensive FA.

They'll get them (if Tanev's still here). This is simply to retain their rights and allow for negotiation and/or arbitration.

Not a chance at 1.5M. What a slap in the face

If you're not going to read other posters comments at least go look up what a qualifying offer is (and how it's not remotely a "final" offer).

In other news, we havent qualified Schroeder

That is interesting...
