Popular Post Honeydew
ugh. The guy is a bust. Already had a major injury and surgery, and he is not even in the NHL. Only 26 assists and his numbers were inflated by a carreer year by his overage line mate. Just because he's a local kid. Stupid reason to draft him. So far this management has sucked Canucks drafted him because his play is in comparison to what JB was looking for, playing physical, can score, skating is great. Quit looking at player's stats without analyzing the player's ability.

Chronic.Canuck
Good pick with the local boy. He'll need another 2/3 years before getting nhl time.
Edler's Mind Tricks
There was a lot of vitriol thrown at him, but it isn't his fault. Even if he doesn't have the upside of Nylander or Ehlers, he could end up as a better NHLer.
Kass
I like the fact that he seems to be super excited to play here I'm not 100% sold on him yet but I haven't seem a ton of his play
Popular Post Ihatetomatoes
So disappointed. Virtanen can skate, hit and shoot. All is great except he can't think the game and can't pass. 26 assists? So frustrating. Derp...
Did play injured and still led team Canada at u18, can't argue with his upside.

Honeydew
Why do people on CDC just look at stats? Have you guys even seen him play? If not keep the negativity to yourselves, he's going to be scoring goals like crazy.
shinkaruk98
Can skate, hit and most of all he has one heck of shot.

Future 3rd liner a winger who didn't stack his assists in the junior? how dare he?? didn't he play through the season with injury too? that's some pretty good stats for someone who play with injury
elvis15
It is impressive however that he's healing very quickly. That only helps so much if he keeps getting injured to make use of that talent, but if it does happen could be an asset that he's able to get back quickly. Down by the River
For those saying Virtanen cannot pass...in his first real season in the Dub he had more assists than goals. Last year he had 25 assists. Not like he is incompetent.
baumerman77
Goals are much more difficult to accumulate than assists. People pay too much attention to assists for wingers. Edited June 28, 2014 by baumerman77
bignuckeystyle
1st in physical play, 2nd in overall skating, 4th competitiveness, 5th in puck skills amungst all north american prospects. Big, fast, physical, projected 1/2 scoring winger, 45 goals in 71 games played (not on a line with drouin). I think we got exactly what we needed to get canadian and a homeboy who wants to be here.
