Hypothetically here, wouldn't it be kinda perfect if someone was put on the IR/LTIR during preseason to make room for Virtanen? That's if he's looking good of course. Similar to our cap flexibility with Salo being injured a few years ago.

Hypothetically speaking...a player, we'll say Chris Higgins, suffers a strain of his supraspinatus playing table tennis and he's out until sometime in November/December. Jake comes up, plays 9 games, and looks either good enough to stick or the team sends him back to junior and he plays in the WJC.

Perfect.

Supraspinatus is primarily an abductor. Lifting your arm out straight to the side, like you're flapping your arm like a bird. Highly unlikely during ping pong since it's mostly roterey movements. Probably a Teres major/minor tear or a tendinitis.

Not that it matters, since day dreaming about such a wonderful fella as Higgy being injured is just down right rude.

A little sensitive?

I was simply posing a hypothetical situation in which we could see Virtanen play some NHL games and not be forced to trade/waive any current roster guys.

As for the RC comments...you seem to know what you're saying, but supraspinatus injuries are common in baseball where there isn't much "arm flapping" movement.

Ive been watching this game and Virtanen looks like the best player on the ice. So big strong and fast im getting excited

He's looking good for sure.

Big hits, plus a nice set up on that PP goal.

Edit: not to mention he drew the penalty

TSN praise for Virtanen?

LOL. Craig Button at the draft last year had Jake going in the 2nd rd. Now he watches him today & can't stop talking about him & says he maybe the most NHL ready. LOL.

Jake is got sick skating with very nice set of mits. That to go along with his high end compete level & hard hitting no fear style, The Canucks have themselves a true Power Forward here.
