Linden and Benning should have done their homework on this one. He obviously wanted to be anywhere but Vancouver. Another Hodgson. Strike One and two!

lul wat? Great third post man. I see you going far here. Hopefully you forget your password by next draft so you can restart your cdc career.

okay, so what is significant to you then?

What do you think is realistic?

Lazar 17th pick 2013 61 point in his draft year 73 GP

2014 76 points on the best team in the CHL. 58 GP

Horvat 61 points in 67 GP 2013

2014 74 points in 54 games

McCann 62 points in his draft year 64 GP

80 points in 60 games? That would put him on Lazar or Horvat levels for being a 2 way centerman

also on a so so team

He does seem to have a Kesler like ego...

What's with all these Kesler comparisons, he doesn't play like Kesler. Plus Kesler is way bigger than him, McCann has better hockey sense and higher offensive ceiling and can actually use his teammates.

"McCann is also an extremely disciplined player who is quite coachable. There is not ego with this kid about thinking he knows it all. He wants the chance to improve his game, and there is no doubt with the right coaching he can become one of the better young centers in the game. He plays hard all the time, and has a very strong work ethic."

Horvat, Gaunce, Cassels, McCann, Lain, Vey down the middle. All those centers will be fantastic middle-6 centers in the NHL, but none of them scream 1st line center which is what still eludes us. Hopefully we can make a trade down the line or sign a UFA when we're ready to peak.

The selection of McCann actually is a plus for us. It allows us to comfortably switch Gaunce to the wing if need be and be that powerful winger who is good in both zones.

This actually makes me think that it can open a lot more opportunity for Gaunce now, since we are very low on quality powerful wingers, he could be a very good one as he showed briefly for the Erie Otters.

Just because they don't "scream" 1st line center doesn't mean they can't be. Sometimes elite players have to be developed. Some of the best players in the game weren't expected to be franchise players. So stop making assumptions on how good our prospects can be. Just let them develop and see what happens.

Yeah that is another plus than just McCann himself. If we have Horvat and McCann as our top 2 center prospects who project to be 2nd line centers then we can move Gaunce to the wing instead of 3rd line C and place Cassels as 3rd line center. Gaunce maybe has the 2nd line LW if he beats out one of Jensen, Kassian, Shinkaruk, Virtanen or one of them drops down.

Even if none of those guys develop in to or we can't draft/trade for a "legit" 1st line C, it can work if you have bonafide star wingers with the C as a good 2 way "lunch pail" guy. But then we still have to find/develop some superstar wingers from somewhere...

i feel like this guy could potentially be a #1 center. i'd like to see him focus more on consistant offense this year. if we can get him to develope a bit more offensively, mccann horvat could be great as our 1st and 2nd line centers.
