I hope he comes over next year. The AHL will be an easier league for him to play in and develop for the next couple of years.

agreed, i think it will help him be more apart of the org too

Stumbled on this article made on Jan.14, a few days after he potted in his first goal of the year. Would have to agree the KHL stats must tweeked a little regarding weight etc. He does not seem as stacked as Byf. Byf is 2 inches shorter. Wasn't sure how to post this video of his goal directly on the site but It is on the Vancouver sun. Happens around the 1:18 mark

Well I don't know about the KHL, but it's a known fact that the NHL tweaks players' height and weight quite frequently, and most people acknowledge that Dustin Byfuglien is never listed at his actual weight and well below it, especially towards the end of the season as he continues to put on the lbs over the course of the year

Byfuglien is as much "260 pounds" light as Johnny Hockey is "5 feet 9 inches" tall

Interesting Linden said at the town hall meeting earlier this month that Tryamkin was playing pro next year, so i think he is going to come over next year

Last time I checked, KHL was a pro league.

Wonder if there is a provision in Tryamkin's deal that allows him to have his contract bought out by himself or the Canucks? And if he has such a clause, I wonder if the Canucks would be interested in exercising the clause?

Didn't Tryamkin say he wanted to honour his KHL contract?

Although, it's not like that is always held up, and the KHL situation is different from the day he said that.

Tryamkin is averaging just under 15 minutes per game, so he’s clearly playing on the third pairing. His ice time has been especially low lately. Earlier in the season, Tryamkin was averaging around 16 minutes per game, while occasionally playing over 19 minutes. He hasn’t played more than 15 minutes a game since the end of November, however, and he’s played around 12 minutes or less since mid-December. The drop in ice time is partly due to the addition of veteran defenceman Alexander Loginov, who is averaging a little over 17 minutes per game for Avtomobilist since being signed at the end of November.

His team dresses 8 defencemen for games, the top guys got around 18:30 in the last one.

Next to Logashev, he's usually the youngest guy on the team and they're in a tight playoff race for the last spot right now.

Log jam on D in Utica this year led to Tommernes going back to Sweden. Next year it could be just as bad with Subban and McEneny (ECHL likely) coming in. I believe McNally is in his last year, though I think his academic suspension could delay that. Hutton has another year, both of these guys could get a look. I think it's best for Tryamkin to wait a year and come over with Forsling.

I could see us letting Andersson walk, Huskins is pretty close to retirement, and there's a couple fringe guys like LaFranchise, Blain and Negrin on the Comets roster, so maybe coming over isn't a bad idea. I don't know, it's tough to say where the comets D will be next year, but if we're planning on bringing guys over and having guys make the jump from junior, then we'll have to make space.

Depth chart NA:

Corrado

Sanguinetti

Biega

Huskins*

Pedan

Andersson

Negrin*

Ehrhardt*

LaFranchise*

Blain

*comets contract

Depth chart Euro/Junior/NCAA:

Subban

Forsling

Tryamkin

Hutton

McNally

McEneny

Subban might be the only one next year to really make the jump, assuming McEneny gets cut.

More like Cederholm Subban

Tryamkin Forsling

Why put both trees and both shrimps on the same pairings?

Well I doubt Forsling will be on the Comets next season.

As for the NHL, Tryamkin and Cederholm have much better odds of making it because of their size and strength. Subban and Forsling will likely have to spend at least a couple years in the AHL to build up some strength.

Not to mention Tryamkin and Cederholm are perfect bottom pairing D-men, whereas if Subban and Forsling are to slot in it will need to be in the top 4 for them to fit in. So again, it will be awhile.

im assuming Corrado is on the Canucks roster next year.

With the said logjam, I can see Cedarholm being left in Junior another year, perhaps traded to a better team.

I can see Hutton coming in as I thought he was a senior?

Hutton-Subban

Tryamkin-Pedan

McEneny-?? Andersson

relatively young defense

Oh agreed, Forsling will be in the SEL for a couple years yet. I didn't realize you were referring to the Comets roster.

I see one of Forsling or Subban filling a role like Weber on the team now. PP specialist, but only getting bottom 6 5vs5 minutes, being too small to contain the best of the west.

I like the idea of a Cederholm - Tryamkin pairing. Two nasty stay at home guys that are both big and strong.

Plus we can call them the Ceder-Tree pairing.

All three (Pedan being the other) are lefties, so someone would have to be comfortable playing the right side.
