ShakyWalton
This is crazy! I hope chicago regrets! RT @CRoumeliotis: Report: Toews and Kane expected to sign 8-year contract extensions with the Blackhawks, cap hit of roughly $10.8 million, per @thekapman.https://twitter.com/CRoumeliotis/status/486344861596258304 This makes the Sedins contracts look pretty good, that is a huge cap hit but we all knew it was coming. FelixPotvin29
Thats an insane amount of money. Tough to argue that they don't deserve it. But it sure is going to be hard to win another cup with them eating that much of the pie.
KoreanHockeyFan
Pretty big for the NHL. But when you look at the bigger picture, people like Lebron James are getting paid 20 mil a year.
MJDDawg
Don't know who this guy is but if true, while a lot of money, relatively speaking that's not a bad deal compared to some of the other monster contracts. Ovenchicken is making $10 million per season for the next hundred years and he will not bring home a Cup.
ocnucksfan
theyll certainly regret that, if not sooner then later for sure. I hope its front loaded, wait, it's chicago, i hope its back loaded! haha

Nuxfanabroad
Glad we're going younger. Let other GM's deal with Kesler's ego in 18 mos. Also consider Schneid's negotiations after the Lundqvist deal. He should want 6~7 mill/per. Garr, Kes & CS would be 14 mill alone, this year. Soon it'll be about 18 mill for that trio. With every contract signed, we'll again realize the beauty of having the twins. Long as our 'kids' perform as per advertised, we'll be good for a half-decade, at least. Pears
Makes the Sedins contracts look awesome if true. Seriously, $21.6 million AND 31% of Chicago's cap between two players? Pretty big for the NHL. But when you look at the bigger picture, people like Lebron James are getting paid 20 mil a year. Kobe's getting $48 million over two years. ItsMillerTime
Hossa has like a 5.2 million contract till 2021 and he is 35. Chicago one of the worst gms.
Gaudette Celly
Consider though what the cap could be 8 years from now. 8 years ago it was $44 million. At the same growth rate it could be $108 million by 2022.
BenDrinkin
They deserve it, but Chicago will be hard-pressed to dress a decent line up with those guys making that much.

Dion Phaneuf
Seems fake but... Chicago has already won two cups. Does it really matter if the two players who were huge in both runs get paid? Don't think so. Proven, accomplished, brought Chi-town two cups what more could you want?
Ilya Kovalchuk.
Hossa has like a 5.2 million contract till 2021 and he is 35. Chicago one of the worst gms. looool and Vancouver has the best I'm assuming? Take a look at Chicago's success over the past few years.
