After much discussion over the recent unsuccessful season, we have decided to create a new league and therefore a new season/schedule. What will be different this time around is the fact that we will have 3 teams of 5-6 and registration will be by seniority , meaning that members who have played in the previous two leagues will receive a spot over someone who has not. I realize this may not be the best way of going around things, but having cancelled 4-5 games in a row due to inactivity and people not reading PMs is frustrating to everyone who just wants to play. That being said... I would like to welcome everyone to season 3.5 of CDC Haxball. No score limit, but a mercy rule will be put into effect for 10+ goal leads. One player from another team will "scorekeep" and post the final result in the thread. Scorekeepers may be asked to record games. -Teams: 3 teams. -Playoffs: 1st seed gets a BYE into the finals, whereas the 2nd and 3rd seed have to play a 3 game series to determine the winner. The winner of that series will then face the 1st seed in a 5 game series to determine the champion. -Draft: Snake draft, order was determined using a randomizer. Remember: It's just a game and we are here to have fun. While frustration is inevitable, please keep this in mind and don't try to ruin things for everyone else. Assistant Commissioner: 112 The League Assistant Commissioner's duties include: -All Commissioner/Presidential duties in the case of Commissioner absences or other extreme conditions. -Acting adviser to the League Commissioner. -Scorekeeping/recording if necessary and when able. -Making important League decisions when needed. -Maintaining composure during stressful times, taking a direct approach to problem solving and acting with utmost respect as the face of the league. Captains: Gally, JE14, and OurTimeToShine A Captain's duties include: -Drafting their team. -Deciding on their team's name and colours (if wanted. Use this: http://haxcolors.herokuapp.com/). -Changing game times to better suit what works for both teams. -Keeping team morale high. -Exhibiting superb qualities of sportsmanship and leadership. -Will be given Administrative permissions during games their team is involved in to allocate players, etc. Temporary Captains may be appointed by that team's Captain or league officials in the case of absences or other extreme conditions. AWARDS CDC Cup: The CDC Cup is the most prestigious award in CDC Haxball. It is awarded by the League Commissioner to the team which reigns victorious in the post-season. President's Trophy: Awarded to the team with the best record in the regular season. *This award will be handed out by the League Commissioner once placing is finalized. Defensive Player of the Year Award: Awarded to the player deemed most effective in the defensive end of the field during the regular season. Cannot be awarded to pure goalkeepers. Vezina Trophy: Awarded to the goalkeeper deemed overall to be most proficient in the position throughout the regular season. Art Ross Trophy: Awarded to the player who scores the most points over the course of the regular season. Conn Smythe: Awarded to the player who is deemed by a panel of judges to be most valuable to their team's success during the post-season. Link to comment
