-Vintage Canuck-
Journeyman split last season between the Rangers and Penguins. Also, played 224 games for the Canucks from 2006-2009: After a lengthy NHL career, Taylor Pyatt is headed overseas. The former Islander, Sabre, Canuck, Coyote, Ranger and Penguin has signed with Geneve-Servette of Switzerland’s National League A, the club announced on Thursday. Pyatt, 32, split last season between New York and Pittsburgh, racking up four goals and five points in 56 games. A first-round pick of the Islanders (eighth overall) in 1999, Pyatt never materialized as the high-scoring power forward many expected him to be after a standout junior career with OHL Sudbury. His best NHL season came in 2006-07 with Vancouver, when he scored a career-high 23 goals and 37 points, chipping in with another six points in 12 playoff games. It was in Vancouver, though, where Pyatt suffered terrible tragedy as his fiancee died in a car crash during the 2008-09 campaign. Pyatt left the Canucks the following season and enjoyed two good campaigns in Phoenix, scoring 30 goals for the Coyotes from 2009-11. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2014/07/24/veteran-nhler-pyatt-signs-in-swiss-league/

Devoted
A good player and a genuine guy. I hope he has found peace in his life after the accident. I wish him the best in Switzerland
Master Mind
I became a fan of his during his time as a Canuck, and was always hoping he'd have success when he left. It's a shame the way his NHL career turned out. All the best to him overseas.
elvis15
Maybe he'll find himself a Swiss miss. But that's something I'd love to do in a job like being a pro hockey player. You'd have the opportunity to continue your career and live abroad, basically exploring another part of the world you might otherwise not be able to see at that local level. TOMapleLaughs
Useless fact of the minute: The rights to Taylor Pyatt were acquired by Nonis in exchange for the pick that led to Keith Aulie, current Oiler.

AFrame14
Don't see how they're similar at all. At all? Both are big and were drafted high in the first round. Virtanen will be better tho as he is a better skater than platt ever was
LeanBeef
At all? Both are big and were drafted high in the first round. Virtanen will be better tho as he is a better skater than platt ever was Should have worded it differently. I don't see many similarities in their game. -Virtanen's big, but not Pyatt big at 6'4 220+. -Pyatt is great at winning puck battles in the corners but doesn't have a very complete game when playing on the rush -Pyatt usually wins the puck battles and gives the puck to his linemates to create scoring chances (see the Sedins, and briefly NAsh with the Rangers a few seasons ago) -Haven't seen Pyatt score many goals more than 5 feet away from the front of the net -Pyatt can be physical, but is very inconsistent when it comes to that.
