[Proposal] VAN-WIN, VAN-NYI

Recommended Posts

I'll get right on with the trade.

Hansen, Lack, Jensen, 2015 2nd round pick

for Evander Kane.

Why Winnipeg does this ?

They get a speedy third liner who can score goals and is dedicated to the third line. Winnipeg has to many third/fourth liners that are just big and strong but really do nothing other than Tangradi. It should help their bottom 6. Hansen would probably waive his NTC(candy bar) to WIN. Why? Hansen also lives there in the offseason with his wife, and you know, Jensen, Ehlers, Hansen, it's the danish connection right, right ?

Winnipeg also gets a good goalie in Lack. Lack is 26 , and now with the signing of Miller, he's going to play backup games. And really, he's proven himself that he can be a starting goaltender. By the time Miller's contract has finished, he'll be 29 years old. Winnipeg really needs to sort out it's goal tending problems.. Lack will definitely help them with that.

Jensen.. can you not imagine a line with

Ehlers/Scheifele/Jensen ?

Boy that's gonna look great. Anyways they get a good B level prospect who has top 6 potential. He has a scary shot. He is quick and is big. He can score goals, make plays, dangle. Just maybe needs to work on his consistency and his awareness.

They also get a 2015 2nd round pick in a deep 2015 draft.

Why Vancouver does this ?

Ahem. For those who say that he is a locker room cancer, please. Just please. He is just 22 years old. Some of you are speaking like he can NEVER change his attitude. What about Seguin, Patrick Kane, Dustin Byfuglien? All had attitude problems but I heard some guy say we respect them because they are better than E.Kane. If many of you are dissing E.Kane for that reason.. please. Anyways he's a future first liner that already has 30 goals under his belt. He is a BC Boy and boy boy.. when Virtanen becomes NHL ready..

Virtanen/McCann/Kane.....

That line is going to look sweet. He has a better shot than Jensen(of course), and when he's with the puck, he can be very dangerous.

So this is my WIN proposal.

Now this second proposal is short.

Chris Higgins to NYI

for the 2015 3rd round pick.

NYI gets a hometown boy in Chris Higgins and he is a decent player that can put up 40 points. He also has a friendly cap hit of I believe 2.5 mill. Pretty respectable for the type of player he is.

We get a 2015 3rd round pick in a deep 2015 draft.

Sedin/Sedin/Vrbata

Kane/Bonino/Kassian

Burrows/Vey/Matthias

Sestito/Richardson/Dorsett

Hamhuis/Bieksa

Edler/Tanev

Sbisa/Corrado

Sanguinetti

Miller

Markstrom.

Thoughts ?

Vancouver just got rid of a good player who did not want to be here and his attitude was a disturbance to the whole team. Kesler displayed an of air selfishness, arrogance and immaturity in his bid to get out of Vancouver. He even limited the number of teams to Anaheim to be traded to in his selfish attempt to win a Stanley Cup. That might come to fruition for him but it also images him as immature and a poor team player. There are certainly many, many, many players out there that would love to win a cup but they would never foresake being a team player or team colleagues to get what they wanted. In addition, Kesler was not forthright with fans when, in the media, he stated he personally did not ask to be traded. Of course he asked, indirectly through his agent. Management did not refute Kesler's statement about his desire to be traded and Benning made short work of it happening right after being hired as our GM. I don't know of anyone else but that leads me to believe Kesler was a cancer to the team.

Kane is not happy in Winnipeg. He claims he is not liked there and has openly admitted to the press that the fans don't like him because he is black. I find that difficult to believe. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have many black players on the team and color is not an issue with any of them. Winnipeg has two major pro sporting teams, the Jets and the Bombers, so why would the skin color of one hockey player be an issue as Kane suggests. That is a bunch of bunk as far as I am concerned. One simply has to Google the name Evander Kane and learn he has other reported issues as well. Apparently he is arrogant and immature.

Having said that, can a parallel be seen here depicting a player the Canucks just traded away. One has to ask himself the question, if Kane is not a concern, why has he not been snapped up by another team? How many others see Kane in the same light as he is seen in Winnipeg?

I appreciate the fact that Kane is a very good hockey player and extend him that compliment however, is his talent worth the destruction of team harmony to any team? When you have to pay a player millions of dollars to do a job that he loves, should anyone have to face serious problems for all that money and further more, one must also consider the millions paid to others and seriously ponder how that investment is influenced by the acquisition of a problem player?

Truthfully, I believe Kane at this juncture is a poor investment. He needs to grow up and then become a worthy player and man.

If you had Kane would you trade him for Hansen, Lack Jensen and a 2nd. Yeah I didn't think so, if you want to make an offer that Winnipeg is actually going to consider you have to include the 2015 1st as well one of Shinkaruk/Horvat/Virtanen, depending on which one it could be more. I would personally not do that. Vancouver is headed in the right direction, and I don't think they can afford to pay what Winnipeg will want for Kane.

I understand that people really want to see a home town guy play in Vancouver but imo its a difficult proposition. Winnipeg will have a number of suitors for Kane as he a talented player who scored 30 goals as a 20 year old and still has tremendous potential to improve. They are going to look for a package of young talent if they move him, so you will have to put up your best assets on the table.

The Islanders will reject Higgins for a 3rd not because its not fair value but because they don't need another bottom 6 player. They are in a similar situation as Vancouver in that they have excess amount of 3rd and 4th line players. In fact they will be looking to move one of their own rather than trade for one.

I think a trade with Kane and Any other team hasn't happened because Winnipeg's asking price is sky high. They want players who can win now yet no one is going to do a lateral trade. If Winnipeg was accepting rebuild than I bet their would be a lot of offers on picks and younger talent for Kane. Winnipeg could use some better goal tending etc. But giving up Kane hurts their Offense as well so they expect a player coming back who can score just as much.

Because this is a never ending Argument on attitude and race etc. I'm just going to post something that I posted a few months ago. The links explain a bit of a different side not jumping all over Kane for money pics and race etc.

Vancouver Canucks is a high pressure market. Media is crazy and blows everything out of proportion. Winnipeg is very similar with that as well. If any fan group should understand, It should be us no?

I'm tired of everyone's comments regarding him being a cancer. Does anyone actually know what is going on in the locker room etc? I have searched online and can't find a single post of a Jets player actually calling out Kane for being a cancer. He is young, Has lots of money. Ego comes with it. People have the ability to grow up and mature.

Here are a few posts that may change some peoples views or at least not constantly repeat what a few media titles have posted.

@Whale Tail - thanks for the links. I personally hadn't looked into all the E Kane story. I sure feel like he's been treated unfairly by Peg news.

Having said that, I still don't feel Vancouver should trade away so many assets for him. I sure do wonder when and where he'll end up going to.

No I agree. Would like to have him on the team. But its not worth giving a lot of our prospects up as we are just starting to get stocked up and still could add a few more. Their GM has stated he doesn't want picks and young prospects. He wants NHL ready players. There is a reason Win's GM hasn't done a player to player trade since being in power. I get the feeling he is similar to MG in be able to be patient and asking to much.

if the nucks really want him they will have to bring a great offer. how bout lack, tanev, jenson a 2016 first and a 2015 2nd?

Lack becomes there starter, tanev slots in with trouba and jenson eventuall maybe this year plays in there top 6. i dont mind giving up a 1st cuz were basically getting an elite 1st back in kane.

That being said its a high price to pay but thats what its gonna take. jets dont have to do any deal for him its a much diff situation then we had with kes. As long as we dont trade bo shink mcann virtanen gaunce or cassels im ok with it. I think jenson is gonna be a great player but i think kane helps us win now and with the twins on the wrong side of 30 are window with them is almost shut not quite but realistically we have about 3 years left with this core and i think they deserve one more chance to win the cup. they have done so much for this team and city

I don't put too much stock into all the stories about Kane. If he was in his late 20 or early 30's and you hear those stories, then I'd be worried.

As for the deal, I think you need to sweeten the pot a bit more.

I do like the thought of a Virtannan - McCann - Kane line though.
