Master Mind
A week after stopping Nail, I end up giving Kes his first point (even though he had an empty roster spot!) A good race for 2nd place going on now.

Master Mind
Clinched a playoff berth! It's a really tight race for the top of the standings. Top 5 or so teams all have a good chance at first place.

Master Mind
What happens in a tie @kj29? Even if it's more likely Madness wins with the amount of players he has today, it'd be good to know.
Popular Post kj29
@Master Mind The tiebreak will be broken depending on the head-to-head matchups between the two teams. So basically, whoever won more times against their opponent in previous head-to-head matchups will be the winner. Results are coming up soon!! Stay tuned everybody! Recap - Find your team's section!! After another disappointing season, @kj29 did not qualify for the playoffs again and got thrashed by the last place seed @Keslerific - Congrats on 7th place! Despite excellent seasons by Joe Pavelski, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Corey Perry, and Anze Kopitar, we still could not manage to achieve success. Major disappointments include Tyler Johnson, Justin Schultz, David Backes, Kris Russell, and Kyle Turris. Goalie Frederik Andersen could not secure his position as starting goaltender. @kj29 will be looking for answers next question and attempt to bolster his roster during next year's draft. A key addition for @Keslerific was Aleksander Barkov, whom he picked up half way through the year. His team also featured strong goaltending - both his starting goalies boasted a 30+ win season. Another smart move was dropping Vrbata who was shutdown for the season and picking up a surging Brayden Schenn. Rookie Jack Eichel posted very good stats in his first season in the league - a likely Calder Trophy finalist. Even though it was @Herberts Vasiljevs's first year in this pool, I'm sure he is dissatisfied with his most likely last place finish... barring any comebacks. John Tavares proved that he could not single-handedly carry his team after a setback season for him, and injuries to James Wisniewski and Johnny Boychuk depleted his back end severely. Despite his lowly finish, he has been an excellent addition to the league and we hope to have him back for the seasons to come. @Bombastik der Teutone is currently pacing for 9th place, as he is ahead of @Herberts Vasiljevs by one point, but I'm also sure that as a veteran GM, he is not satisfied with this year's results, as he finished 3rd place just last season. Veterans such as Big Joe, the Sedins, Niklas Kronwall, and Jarome Iginla could not help Bomba rise in the standings. Maybe he was trying to embrace #TankNation by picking up lowly-perceived Jones Hiller though Onto the Championship bracket, the league witnessed a complete and utter thrashing when @Scottish⑦Canuck literally assaulted @Gooseberries 10-0 on the scoreboard. What a sight to see, I must say. @Scottish⑦Canuck was dedicated the entire year, as was @Gooseberries, which was evident in the transaction section. Right off the bat, Scottish picked up Canucks sophomore Bo Horvat, who had a career-high season in points. Key producers included Sidney Crosby, who did not disappoint after his multiple point streaks, Kyle Okposo, Taylor Hall, Tyler Toffoli, and John Carlson on defense. Goaltending played an enormous part in his success as well - Braden Holtby had a spectacular season, tying Brodeur's record of 48 wins in a season, and veteran Roberto Luongo proved that age is not a factor as he posted a 35-win season and helped Florida finish on top of the Atlantic Division. The ageless wonder, Jaromir Jagr, was an incredible addition to Scottish's team, as he surpassed Gordie Howe's point total for sole position of 2nd place in points all-time. Scottish is en route to finish 3rd place overall and take the bronze trophy - CONGRATS!! @Gooseberries will finish 6th place this season, a considerable drop from last year's 2nd place finish. His team featured superstars such as likely NHL MVP Patrick Kane, Filip Forsberg, and rookies Max Domi and Dylan Larkin. He made many transactions this season, just like the last, though one of his lowlights was giving up on a struggling Nikita Kucherov early on in the season. On a much more positive note, key additions included star rookie d-man Shayne Gostisbehere, Anthony Duclair, and all-star goalie John Gibson. But when the playoffs came around, not even NHL MVP Patrick Kane could help his team pull out a victory. Maybe next year though Goose, your future is bright with the likes of Domi, Duclair, Larkin, Klingberg, and Forsberg! Coming off a CDCYHL Cup win, defending champ @Nail (Yo Mamma) was destined for greatness once again. He had a strong start to the year and continued his success by securing 4th seed. Key producers included rookie Russian sniper Artemi Panarin, Dallas captain Jamie Benn, Montreal captain Max Pacioretty, and Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf. One of Nail's lowlights was an unfortunate injury to Vezina trophy and Hart Memorial winner Carey Price. He was sidelined much longer than expected and could have been helped his team finish higher. Nevertheless, Nail had the depth the remain a dominant force in CDCYHL. However, he will surely be disappointed with his 5th place finish this season and a quaterfinal loss to 5th seed @Drouin. He will definitely be looking to improve his results next year and prove that his 1st season Cup victory was not a fluke. After a stunning victory over the defending champ, @Drouin set up a daunting meeting against #1 seed @Master Mind. He took down the defending champ... now he has a chance to take down the #1 seed. If he could pull this off, it would truly be a magical Cinderella story. Back tracking to the overview of @Drouin's season, superstars such as Tyler Seguin, Vladimir Tarasenko, and Evgeni Malkin did not fail to impress one bit. They all collectively helped Drouin qualify for the playoffs for the 2nd time in as many seasons and prove that he can compete with the best. Goalie Devan Dubnyk had another strong season and Kris Letang almost posted a PPG season. Injuries to defensemen Mark Streit and Olli Maatta saw a depletion to his roster. Nevertheless, @Drouin is set to finish strongly in 4th place, an improvement of 2 spots from last season - Congrats! @Madness has had an excellent season and secured the #2 seed - a huuggeee improvement from last year's LAST PLACE finish! That is certainly something to be proud of. His determination to finish higher was unfettered, hence his significant rise in the standings. Early on, he picked up youngster Teuvo Teravainen, and Kevin Hayes. His team's players posted impressive numbers, including the likes of PPG d-man Erik Karlsson, Drew Doughty, Blake Wheeler, Wayne Simmonds, Mikkel Boedker, Patrice Bergeron, and Claude Giroux. His goaltenders were absolutely sensational - Jonathan Quick boasted 40 wins and Corey Crawford followed suit with 35 wins. All these factors collectively contributed to @Madness' success this season. If he can pull the upset against #1 seed @Master Mind, it would be something truly special and worth remembering. From last place to potentially CDCYHL Cup Champion? Exceptionally phenomenal. As the top seed in this year's playoffs, @Master Mind has had an incredibly sensational season. His roster boasts stars such as Steven Stamkos, a rejuvenated Ryan Johansen, Brad Marchand, PK Subban, and Zach Parise. Brent Burns has had a record season, breaking the record for points by a SJS D-man. Jason Spezza has found his groove again and posted a 63-point season. After @Gooseberries shockingly gave up on Nikita Kucherov, he picked him up and it has probably been the best decision he had made this season by a mile - arguably the best pickup by any GM this season. Mark Stone had yet another fantastic season, posting back-to-back 60+ point seasons. Flames captain Mark Giordano picked up where he left off after his injury last season and posted a remarkable 56-point season. Another big highlight of @Master Mind's season was snagging Connor McDavid in the draft. Despite his injury that might've cost him the Calder Trophy, he still was able to produce an impressive 48 points in his rookie season. Though Pekka Rinne struggled multiple times during the season, he was still able to find his mojo and prove that he was the #1 goalie in Smashville. Overall, it has been quite a positive season for @Master Mind, climbing the standings from 4th place to 1st place. If all goes well, he will be crowned as CDCYHL Season 2 Cup Champ! CDCYHL Season 2 Cup Champion - TBA This year's finale features the two top seeds - #1 @Master Mind and #2 @Madness. Only one can win the ultimate prize. Both have had outstanding and remarkable seasons worth recognizing. One team has made numerous adjustments throughout the season in hopes of improving, and the other team has climbed all the way from Marianas Trench to within one step of the Heavens - literally starting from the bottom (now we here) !!! It has come down to the utmost thinnest wire. #1 seed @Master Mind has just pulled ahead 4-3, but we all know that anything can happen in the crazy game of hockey. As we will wait apprehensively for the results to officially finalize, we must acknowledge everyone's efforts this season! Thanks for another great season..... Hopefully all of you had fun witnessing your team battle it out. That's all for today, folks. Now, we just need to wait for our Cup Champ to be declared the winner of Season 2! Thanks for reading - I'm sorry for not being very active this season. I hope you enjoyed it! Signing up, ~ Commish

The fact we needed a tiebreaker shows how good of a series it was. I don't doubt that you'd have won it Philly hadn't rested so many players on Sunday. Exceptional turnaround season for you. Looking forward to next year.
