Lui's Knob
Did you hit your head before you typed this? How is that a bad deal? Kassian = Kane (both inconsistent players and young) Buff = Edler (similar players) Erricsson/Hansen = Ladd (get a BC boy; top 6; opens up space and playing time for Markstrom)

Kassian = Kane (both inconsistent players and young) Buff = Edler (similar players) Erricsson/Hansen = Ladd (get a BC boy; top 6; opens up space and playing time for Markstrom) It's a terrific deal if your Vancouver. If you're Winnipeg, that's the dumbest trade ever. They wouldn't even trade those 3 for Daniel and Henrik, let alone the fodder you proposed for them. Monty
Really... Jets likely roster as of right now: Kane (23 years old, $5.25M) - Scheifele - Wheeler Ladd (28 years old. $4.4M) - Little - Byfuglien (29 years old, $5.2M) Galiari - Perreault - Frolik Tangradi - Slater - Thorburn After terrible trade: Sedin (33 years old, $7M) - Sedin (33 years old, $7M) - Wheeler Scheifele (where else can he go?)- Little - Frolik Galiardi - Perreault - Thorburn Tangradi - Slater - Peluso So yeah, really. g_bassi13
Why on earth WOULDN'T the Canucks trade Kassian if it could land them a better player? Kane has scored 4 times more goals and points in only a little over twice as many games. Not only that, but Evander is over 6 months younger than Kassian. So if Kassian is "just coming into his own", isn't it reasonable to assume Kane has more to give too? What would IMPROVING the team be equated with tanking? Exactly, lol. Where does all this Kassian is an untouchable God stuff come from, when you're comparing him to a guy that has done so much more already at a the same (slightly younger) age? Too much homerism towards Canucks players all around here. What is Kassian primed to explode, and Kane just randomly regress? Always hear this on CDC... but no one anywhere else thinks anything of him.

But in this case WH, you've got to keep that package if you're the Jets.

Buff being almost redundant and a throw in right now (more value elsewhere) Kane being the problem child and less value than he's worth Ladd being the leadership role and possible centerpiece for 2 first line players Regardless of personal feelings that's a 1 for 1 deal that works. Not one i'd make but it's basically value for value, throw in Corrado if WPG wants a D man back but really.
Duodenum
How is that a bad deal? Kassian = Kane (both inconsistent players and young) Buff = Edler (similar players) Erricsson/Hansen = Ladd (get a BC boy; top 6; opens up space and playing time for Markstrom) Kane >>>>>> Kassian (41pts in 63 games, former 30 goal scorer, on pace for >20 goals for 4 straight seasons) vs (29pts in 73 games, previously fringe NHLer) - Not even close in terms of value Buff > Edler (both garbage defensively, Buff better offensively and can play both forward and defense) Ladd >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Hansen/Ericsson (no explanation needed, this one is just sad)

I would rather see Kane and Kassian play on the same line than trade one for the other. I think both young men have super futures in front of them. Kassian has severe untapped talent. So does Kane but with Maurice praising Kane and saying he'll give him the minutes, I fearthw window to trade for Kane is closing fast if it isn't already. The consolation prize? Lucic 2017. In hinds sight it would make total sense, but lots of people here feel you don't need scoring to win a cup in the future, this team needs a physical player who will develop in the future to help this team win a cup. Trust me I don't get their logic, it's all backwards.
timberz21
I guess Eklund as done his job, were up to 12 posts talking about Kane. Actually this should be move into proposal, because it's clearly become one of those topics, more than an actual trade rumors. Anyways Kane is overrated on this board, the cost to acquire him would exceed his return.

NUCKS4CUP 28
Big buff, Kane and Ladd for Hansen, Edler, Kassian and Ericsson? Man this is probably one of the worst, uneven, lopsided trade proposals I've seen on here in a long time.
