Rollieo Del Fuego
Any word on if Valk has been offered an AHL contract? It say's he's been released and not assigned so I'm guessing so AHL contract at this point. They said he would be attending Comets camp, so PTO contract I guess
VegasCanuck
Wow, Humpheries and Valk weren't even given a game. Such depth this year. Neither one is under contract. If they were, they might have gotten a game in. Would like to see Valk get a contract out of Utica!
-Vintage Canuck-
Communication is key. How much would you trust your teammates? Each blindfolded Canucks player has a partner who acts as their guide and directs them throughout a game of dodgeball during training camp. Lui's Knob
Got to be disappointing for Virtanen while all the other 1st rounders are getting ice time (and possibly a 9 game tryout) with their respective teams, he didn't even play and gets sent back. Our picks this year was in tough (McCann, Tryamkin not even playing here, Demko back to NCAA and Virtanen).

He hasn't even started taking contact yet. He was there to experience the camp, so he is more comfortable for next year's camp.

Yessss. I'm sure hoping nobody snaps him up but it was the right move. As they go on in that article they mention having to do that to make room for guys like Shinkaruk and Jensen. Seems like as long as those guys continue to make an impact, Benning will stick to his word.
Rahvin
Hey guys! First time poster, long time lurker here. This camp has me very excited about the team, especially with the youth we have. I was curious about what our lineups would be, and when looking at the current roster I was curious about which players play each specific position (wings, centre, d-men who shoot left vs right). I wanted to see how even we are, how deep we are in each position, and get a better idea of what our lineup could be when the season starts. Anyway, here's the chart. I'm interested to see what happens with our right-wingers. We've got 8 who could play at the NHL level. With Burrows playing on LW that brings it down to 7. We're not very deep on centre. Are there any RW players who have / can play centre? I also like how even we are with D men who shoot both ways. It's nice to see.

Guest Dasein
There's no way Richardson is going to play on the wing. He's our best faceoff man. Matthias or Vey are probably going to play on the wing, with the other playing center if Bo's not ready.

I've edited the chart, and the addition of Richardson and Vey at centre creates a whole bunch of possibilities. I'm very interested to see which players are on the starting roster. The coaching staff are going to have to make some tough cuts.

RKESLER17
I personally think Vey and Jensen have more upside then Kassian. And Hansen has to go. Horvat for 3C and Hunter has to make the team
-Vintage Canuck-
Forward Jake Virtanen speaks with CanucksTV in Calgary after being re-assigned to his team in the Western Hockey League. Although he wasn't healthy enough to play, the 6th overall pick in this year's NHL Draft leaves his first training camp experience with many positives. Mr.DirtyDangles
Would have been nice to see Subban get another game or two but realistically there was no way he was making the team. Maybe next year though. Exactly ! He needs a little more time to round out his already awesome game. Huge fan of the kid but I think he even knows his time will come soon enough. Mr.DirtyDangles
Tell me how it works then? Every year just send players back to junior where they have already proven themselves, which is why they get drafted and that will help get them ready for the NHL? Don't know what it is about Canuck fans, all the they think is players need to keep playing in junior to develop. While other teams get their prospects in the lineup. Nichushkin is getting ready for his 2nd season on a top line with Benn and Seguin after a solid rookie season and Horvat is still just trying to crack our lineup...And some of you think he should go waste another year in junior. If he is not good enough or ready now, then he will be just another typical Canuck draft pick. And I could guarantee that if we had drafted Nichushkin, he wouldn't have played last season and still be trying to make the lineup this year, as everyone would be saying he is not ready The jump from junior to the NHL will always be huge no matter how many seasons you play at a junior level Do you think any one of our prospects is a s good as Nichuskin ? You think Higgins and Hansen are plugs ? You have no concept of what NHL experience brings to a team, especially ours that needs the most consistent play every night just to make a run at the PLayoffs. Not twist in the wind Like EDM throwing rookies to the wolves every year. Higgins is consider one of if not the fittest player in the league. No, no we dont want that kind of dedication to rub off on our younger players.
