Shots fired on Parliament Hill, soldier shot at National War Memorial

I as a Canadian taxpayer do not want a single cent of my taxes being spent on more bombs exporting "freedom and democracy" to the middle east or wherever.

I am sick and tired of seeing idiot politicians start wars that only make things worse, and line the pockets of weapons companies/ oil companies/ and other parasites..... While we the taxpayer pay with our cash, and the poor soldier pays with his/her blood.

how is freedom working right now for Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Syria etcetc....???

Yes, I wholeheartedly agree... STOP GETTING INVOLVED IN MIDDLE EASTERN CONFLICTS

Well, Libya, Iraq and Syria are frigging messes right now and the people are arguably worse off than before they started after our involvement. Syria being the exception because the people started the revolution, not the west. Although it can be argued the west armed the current ISIS militant issue and won't take responsibility nor will they help either the syrian government or rebels directly.

But again. While this is a terrorizing event, it is not yet known if ti is terrorists. The numbers add up but we don't know as of yet

Why?

Maybe we shouldn't have gotten involved in WW1 and 2 neither right?

Part of the solution would be to know which sources of information are sensationalized fear mongering. Fox? Cnn? Really?

Well, honestly. We scare ourselves more than any news network. but it is hard to argue they don't help push us over the edge. Listening to the SUN coverage and it's all guess work and finger pointing. CNN and FOX blurbed kind of an I Told You So.

We are going to be jumping at our own shadows soon

This automatic assumption that the attack was muslim-related is just plain racism, imho.

I certainly don't like that. That's too American.

Muslim isn't a race. The muslim who ran over the soldiers was a French Canadian guy who converted.

Really? Remind me again when in Canada's history we have been at threat from direct terrorist threat of attack. Remind me again when we worried about homegrown radicalized religious zealots. Remind me again when we joined a US led NATO force to attack countries across the world that have nothing at all to do with the Atlantic and are by and large landlocked countries.

It was not a "matter of time" it was something that happened via direct involvement in affairs not our own.

Again, if you cannot see how sticking our noses into affairs not our own could have motivated people to want to attack our once peaceful country you're frigging nuts.

An attempt like this was inevitable and had very little to do with us "sticking our noses" in affairs overseas. A radical group like IS will not stop until they have raised their flag over every country. There is a great video on the site Vice News shot entirely from behind IS borders. IS members (or are they citizens?) are proud of their global domination goals. This is what they want. No bones about it. I won't post the link here because there are graphic images in it. But it is a good look at what IS members actually think about the world. They only care about sharia law and their radical beliefs everywhere, no matter the nation.

Stop while you're at you fear mongering imbecile...

Like SN_Admin said wait till the blood and dust has settle before spewing out random propaganda.

Lets not forget who supported ISIS and other groups once upon ago.

Obviously I feel terrible for the soldier that was shot, but a couple pieces of garbage with guns does not mean we are at war. Spare us the conspiracy shit, worse things happen in canada all the time. This one just happens to be at an important building.

Exactly... In a post 9/11 world this kind of stuff is expected especially since we are living in times of great upheaval.

Last year two bombs were planted near the Victoria Parliament buildings, and they were nothing but isolated incidents that had nothing to do with a specific terrorist organization or group, but instead self-radicalized people..

Stated again and again, this could be any number of things.

Mentally unstable person

Religious zealot

Politically motivated

Amorously motivated

Monetarily motivated

But over the last few days the signs point to a scary conclusion.

This thread is going to hit the shiter soon though, me and taxi will fight, that bumbling fool will jump in and we'll argue, SN_admin won't see reason and everyone will get warning points and I am not about to get banned because nobody wants to read the whole comment before jumping to conclusions...telling me not to jump to conclusions.

Screw you guys, i'm goin home.
