Shots fired on Parliament Hill, soldier shot at National War Memorial

My heart goes out to our friends in Canada, which is reeling from a shooting in its capital. The dead include a soldier peacefully guarding the country's war memorial.

This attack comes just two days after an attack on another solider. That normally quiet city has been rocked by these events, and our thoughts are with them on this tragic day.

Haven't read the thread but I am watching live coverage on UK news.

Getting pretty emotional. Welled up when I saw that clip of police forces rushing after the sound of the shot in Parliament. Godspeed.

Maybe you missed the part about respect for the soldier and his family. Good people die every day.

Agree 100% very sad thing, but i'll never understand why all the busy bodies lose their minds and feel the need to chime in on why they think it happened and who's responsible when things like this happen... Like it matters what they think.

Blah, blah politics, religion, war, terrorism, blah blah. Save the horse sh*t for hockey people.

Agreed.. There's absolute no reason to panic over things like this. If anything it should make us stronger...

We as Canadians have become too accustomed to feeling immune to such attacks.

It only took two attacks in the last couple of days to change all that..

Maybe now we will rethink our whole ME role and potentially beefing up security in crucial areas..

Thanks for the support, guy who played Sulu on Star Trek?

Warhippy you're sensationalizing this way more than any media right now. At least wait for the blood to dry before jumping to conclusions about the future of the country.

Have you been watching various news outlets? SUN, CNN, FOX, BBC, GLobal/CTV

Seen the crap they're all spouting?

Still think that SN?

Do tell.

I am all ears
