Jeremy Roy (2015 draft)

With Hanifin and Kylington being top 7 i can't see the canucks getting that low of a pick unless JB can trade up but getting into the top 10 doesn't seem likely. But a guy by the name of Jeremy Roy is an interesting player. 6'0ft 187 pounds PMD that shoots right!!!! For me we should pick a d-man in the first and second rounds. I have seen his name anywhere from 11-17 which is where i see the canucks picking. obviously it one of the top 10 players no matter the position is on the board we take them but if we pick around 15 i think his our guy.

check out the video on him below.

Has a great hockey IQ and is a great PPQB. And plays pretty well in his own end as you see in the video

He was steadily making his way up the charts with a solid season last year.

If he makes the WJC for team Canada and shows well he can steal a top 10 slot in next year's draft.

If he was avaliable where we would pick I wouldn't hesitate to snatch him, he is such a dynamic dman, something we really lack.

I cant be the only one who sees nothing special in him, right?

I see him as a good top 4D at best. More so, a bust. Considering he is in the Q, he has awful offensive abilities VS others in the Q, and only fairly good D play.

To add, he plays in the QMJHL.

QMJHL D have the worst draft record, and are really hard to analyze talent.

Just my 2 cents.

You realize Jeremy Roy is the top defenceman in the QMJHL right now in points and ice time, and is literally one step away from being Sherbrooke's captain. The coach and GM have said, on multiple occasions, that Jeremy Roy has been observably the best player in the system ever, dating even back to the Lewiston days. There is less bust potential with Jeremy Roy than there was with Bo Horvat.

Both have the same maturity level, but Roy has the potential to arguably be a franchise-leveling defenceman.

i feel like benning has some tricks up his sleeve, he will aquire 2 more 1st's

Two more? You talk as if we have assets that can garner that return and as if we would be the only ones looking to acquire 1st round picks in this year's draft.

Who do you see giving up a 1st round pick from this year's draft - and for what from our organization?

Sadly, whoever is willing to give up their 1st is going to have a lot of interested buyers, where the overpayer always wins. It's going to be difficult to get a 1st round pick for a steal or even fair value.

I would be extremely impressed if he can get even one more 1st round pick in this year's draft.

I feel like this would be a good time to ask a poll:

If, when our pick comes around, a possible replacement for Hank as a top line center (ex. Konecny, Barzal, Rantanen...) is available, as well as a possible number one defenceman, who would you choose?

a.) #1C

b.) #1D

Really depends - whoever is more of a sure-fire 1C or 1D - in other words, BPA.

For example, if Zacha/Barzal and Werenski are available, you go Werenski.

If Zacha/Barzal and Roy are available, you go Zacha/Barzal.

If you are in need of either positions, and can't fill both, go with the guy who is most likely to pan out in one of those positions at the position you are picking in.
