Sorry, but it's hard to defend against that. 3 games is fair, if not too low, imho.

Not when you compare it to other hits that are worse, and received nothing.

The fact that Emelin returned to the game says that the hit wasn't that bad. Him being off balance made it look much worse. And there's no doubt he stayed down to try and sell the call.

Let's be real if that was Subban hitting Daniel Sedin you'd be calling for five.

Take off the blue and green glasses, and you'll see that was a good suspension

No I won't .. Emelin caused the contact to his head by trying to avoid the hit .. compared to other hits that were more blatant with not even a fine? .. double standard apparently.

Sorry, but it's hard to defend against that. 3 games is fair, if not too low, imho.

Bollig got only 2 games for deliberate boarding causing injury, He was not a repeat offender same a Burrows.

Moore who is a repeat offender got 5 for his headshot causing injury.

BUrrows is in the middle. however, though he is not a repeat offender (which would indicate maybe 2 games) in their decision, the NHL states he has been fined 4 times in the past. It appears they are including the fines as previous history and increasing the suspension accordingly.

WHen it comes to the Nucks, repeat offender appears to have a different meaning than with other teams.

Head shot or not theree absolutely no reason to hit a guy that late. He was baiting the ref to make a call and how that wasn't interference at the very least is absurd.

That being said I didn't watch the explanation video and if it was 3 games based on a head shot that a bad call

What a joke. Thought I'd repost poeticas post. Guess he's getting 3 games for being a Canuck.

Blast from the oh so recent past (March 2014)...

Niederreiter did NOT get a suspension for this hit on Burrows:

Which (other than timing) sure looks a lot like this hit:

About the first hit the NHL said:

If they say Burrows deserves a suspension, they're not following their own interpretation of the rules from earlier this calendar year!
