CRAZY_4_NAZZY
I dont really like this trade. Friesen's good game last night must have made it easy for Benning to pull the trigger letting Lain go. Don't really like the fact we gave up another big tough centre to a division rival, but depth is depth i guess.
theminister
Weird. Very odd move from the Canucks perspective. I suppose this lends credence to the idea that Bo is going back because Acton is a serviceable NHL depth player.

TheFastOne21
Wot? I was interested in seeing Lain grow. Acton any good at faceoffs? He is in AHL now does he stay there or does he come up and have to go through waivers if we send him down?
HerrDrFunk
I'm thanking my lucky stars if I'm Acton right now.
VANcanucks92
Pretty random trade lol, but I always noticed Acton whenever he played us
Dazzle
Edmonton Oilers Will Acton current status: In the minors #41 C | 6'1", 199 lbs. | Edmonton Birth Date:July 16, 1987 (27 years old)Place of Birth:Stouffville, Ont.Shoots:L Experience:1 yearsDrafted:Signed by Edmonton in 2013. Scouting Report Assets: Has a good-sized frame for the center position and plenty of hockey smarts. Is an effective face-off man and penalty-killer, which adds to his overall value to a hockey club. Flaws: Isn't much of an offensive producer, so he will have to continue to do all of the little things in order to maintain NHL employment over the long haul. Could also use more bulk. Career Potential: Defensive center. http://forecaster.thehockeynews.com/hockeynews/hockey/player.php?8920 Keyword: Faceoffs.
Guest
Lain didn't seem like he really fit in here.

TheFastOne21
So we got him to win a faceoff for this team from time to time I assume?
Apple Juice
Was kinda hoping to see Lain grow and flourish and utilize his big 6'6 frame to his advantage as a checker. Minor move but at least Acton, who is supposedly good or decent at faceoffs, can help us in that department.

I suppose this lends credence to the idea that Bo is going back because Acton is a serviceable NHL depth player. Yeah i think it would be a long shot that Laine would see the bigs this year if ever, but as you say Acton could in case of injury.
