Is an effective face-off man and penalty-killer, which adds to his overall value to a hockey club. Flaws: Isn't much of an offensive producer, so he will have to continue to do all of the little things in order to maintain NHL employment over the long haul. Could also use more bulk. Career Potential: Defensive center. http://forecaster.thehockeynews.com/hockeynews/hockey/player.php?8920 Keyword: Faceoffs. Thanks! You saved me from having to go look it up. I figured it must have something to do with faceoffs. I mean, it kind of had to, right?
Jägermeister
It'll help Utica I guess.
TheRussianRocket.
Acton was 58 percent in the Dot last year.. pretty sure thats why we acquired hinm ^this. Odd trade nonetheless. Bit of a boost in the circle but other than that nothing. Win-win for both teams though I'd give the edge to Edmonton.
wshdrvvn
Good luck to Kellan with the oiler organization. He very well could be on their 4th line sooner than later. As for Acton, I also noticed him a bit when he played against the canucks but other than that i'm just hoping he provides some decent NHL depth. Dazzle
Thanks! You saved me from having to go look it up. I figured it must have something to do with faceoffs. I mean, it kind of had to, right? Lol, yeah, most definitely. We are terriawful at them. I nearly cried when Kesler kept winning the draws over Henrik. TheFastOne21
Meh, good move for faceoff/PK use I guess. Lain hasnt done much since we signed him but is younger and maybe higher ceiling than Acton? thread from HFboards about the whole Acton clan but Will is in there as well: http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/archive/index.php/t-1539461.html
theminister
Wot? I was interested in seeing Lain grow. Acton any good at faceoffs? He is in AHL now does he stay there or does he come up and have to go through waivers if we send him down? 2013-14 - 50.3% in 30 games 2014-15 - 50.0% in 3 games Don't know his AHL stats. poetica
Lol, yeah, most definitely. We are terriawful at them. I nearly cried when Kesler kept winning the draws over Henrik. I know. So it'd be great if he can help us with faceoffs. Plus, it says he's a more defensive minded center, which hopefully means he'll be a good addition to our bottom 6. Actually, I'm thinking he's a replacement for Matthias. I like some of what he does but defensively he's not good. (At -9, he currently has the worst +- on the team.) CALGARY!
What an odd pointless trade. I don't see how either team benefits, but, I guess at the same time neither team lost? I guess. Weird trade.
Goal:thecup
JB obviously doesn't hold to the "not within the division" school of trading.
Lui's Knob
Wut? I don't get this deal. I guess it's plug for plug but at least Lain had more size and youth than Acton who can't barely crack the Oiler lineup....this one makes no sense unless it freed up salary cash? It probably also means Sestito is a goner.

Big Time
JB obviously doesn't hold to the "not within the division" school of trading. Come on. Edmonton is barely within the league in terms of overall talent and coaching. I'm guessing half the AHL teams would beat them.
Junkyard Dog
AHL/depth trade I am guessing. Nothing serious so I don't get why you silly peeps be overreacting. Lain's ceiling at most is a 4th liner/13th forward and Acton is that now. Sestito might be gone as well.
