Canuck Surfer
Ouch! Good player. Great scorer. Not great player. My feeling is too much. Guess Dallas is getting serious though? Lets see if they can manage the rest of the books...
Mackcanuck
Nice pay day for Spezza, and 0% Income Tax!
ice orca
A lot of cap gone with an off injured guy who is a bit of defensive liability.
Devoted
Not a bad deal. Contract ends the same year as Seguin's deal. One can only assume that a large chunk of that money will find its way into his pockets after the 18/19 season
AriGold
Next years free agent class is going to be some kind of terrible lol...

Ghostsof1915
Nice pay day for Spezza, and 0% Income Tax! For that state maybe, there's still US Federal Income tax.

Guest Dasein
Ouch. paying 1C $$$ for a 2C. I wonder what Kesler's going to make when his deal runs out...
Honeydew
Ouch. paying 1C $$$ for a 2C. I wonder what Kesler's going to make when his deal runs out... I doubt Kesler will sign anything less than what others are getting out there. He'll probably command 6.5m+ most likely at this point seeing how the growing trend of 2C signing for 1C money... Roughly the same time Seguin's contract is over when Spezza's 4 year is done.
2SKATES1STICK
Nice pay day for Spezza, and 0% Income Tax! what are you talking about?? lol
TheRussianRocket.
If I was Spezza I would've done the same without hesitating even once
VanGnome
Nice pay day for Spezza, and 0% Income Tax! what are you talking about?? lol Texas is one of only seven states that does not tax individual wage income. The state's constitution restricts passage of a personal income tax. The Lone Star State, however, does collect a gross receipts tax from some businesses. hatedkid666
Good deal for Spezza. Not for Dallas.
desiboynux4lifee*******
Dallas has a deep prospect pool, I guess they are going for it in the next 2 years, but this yr they are under-achieving big time.
Master Mind
He was already making too much at a 7M cap hit, and now it went up? Not a good deal for Dallas. And if there's no tax on this, you would think Spezza would sign for less.
JohnScott
So Spezza's getting paid more than the Sedins... Good job Gillis.
Intoewsables
Maybe a bit pricey, but they absolutely nailed the term. If Spezza can keep putting up the numbers he has so far, I don't think there will be much complaining.
