They also get a physically giftred prospect in Gaunce. Also they will be trading a potential superstar who is having a bad year. They need to trade one of eberle, hall, RNH, and of those 3, Eberle is the odd one out. Now before all you eberle haters jump all over me saying im out of my mind, listen. We all know what Eberle is capable of. Now since arriving in Edmonton he hasnt lived up to potential. I believe this is STRONGLY because he hasnt been on a good team, lacking confidence. If you put him in a winning environment like Vancouver, with WD, he will be a superstar. WD will get his confidence back and I gaurentee he'd be a 30-40 goal scorer for us. Also if Vrbata got injured we would have Eberle play with Sedins instead of Hansen. Now the picks are simply for us gambling we would move up in the draft. With edmonton having the young stars they do and the fanbase wanting playoffs (not mcdavid) they are probably the ONLY team in bottom 10 willing to trade pick. Now its not like their losing their 1st rounder, their just picking lower, and with this deep draft, a team like edmonton wouldnt be affected too much by it. On our side of it we would then enter McDavid sweepstakes depending on how Edmonton does. But with the additions like Kassian, Richardson, and Sestito to their lineup gives them way more physicality and depth. So i would say at worst they do bad enough to help us have a better shot at Barzal. Who knows maybe Hall and RNH go knee on knee and out for season and we end up with eichel or McDavid (wouldnt that be awesome). Even better we would still be contending for cup in process!! Lines: Sedin Sedin Vrbata Higgins Bonino Eberle Burrows Matthias Hansen Dorsett Horvat Vey Man if only this would happen. One could only dream. I love how under-rated Eberle is. Thank you for pointing that out. Now i dont agree with what you say. I believe Eberle is A LOT better than most people think. Eberle is VERY under-rated especially now. 420since1974 Posted November 25, 2014 Share Posted November 25, 2014 Without getting into whether or not Eberle would be a good fit on the Canucks; nothing that you are offering would get Edmonton what they really need, which is a #1 Goalie, a pair of Top 2 defense-men, and a 1st or 2nd line Center. They over value all of their kids and figure they are worth 4 1st round picks for each one of them. Hall, RNH, Yak were all considered franchise players by their fans. Between the 3 of them they couldn't run a laundromat. Not one of them have taken the bull by the horns and become a leader like a Tavares or Stamkos on a young team, instead they are nothing but meek sheep.
