Tom Sestito
"The Canucks are hanging tough in the uber-competitive Pacific Division, but are just two points out of a non-playoff position despite their strong start. There’s chatter GM Jim Benning would like to make a move or two, possibly including shipping out veteran forwards Chris Higgins (five goals, 30 games) and Alexandre Burrows (six goals, 25 games). Neither will be easy to move. Higgins has two more years on his deal with a $2.5 million cap hit and a limited no-trade clause, while Burrows has a full no-trade clause with two years left at a $4.5 million hit." http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/weekend-takeaways-ted-nolan-has-buffalo-sabres-coming-together/ Then again, it's Cox. Langdon Algur
I can't see them moving Burrows, he's part of the core. Kassian to me is the most likely trade bait if we are looking for a defender. Gaunce could be included too if we we need to up the trade value. Dekey Pete
I could see Higgins being moved. I would like more for Burrows to be moved, but I don't see there being much of a market for him. Hopefully he comes around.
nux4lyfe
I don't know why people hate on Burr, He's proven to be clutch in the playoffs and If we do make it I'm pretty sure we could use him.

awalk
Also in that interview he talks about Chris Phillips possibly being on the outs in Ottawa. I'd love to see the Canucks make a move for him...he's pretty inexpensive and could fill a hole on D with Hammer out. Would he be worth the asking price is all... canadiangunner
Benning wanted to move Burrows in the summer but Burrows refused to waive NTC. Nucks should go all out for Myers. Myers is a monster on the backend and when he fully develops will be a 1a dman, that can skate, QB PP and pound the day lights out of you! Gaunce, Shinkaruk and 1st. Get er done! TheRussianRocket.
I don't believe it. Remember, we aren't supposed to be a top team, we're retooling on the fly. Being competitive is all management is really asking for and a playoff spot. The fact we got off to a hot start people expected us to keep it up. That's just plain stupid and the recent losses have brought us back down to Earth and close to where we should be projected in the sandings. Borvat
This team has one decent pair of defensemen in Edler and Tanev. They have half a second pair in Hamhuis when he is healthy. They have two top six wingers in Sedin and Vrbata. This isn't difficult to figure out and hasn't been for a while. The problem is noone has stepped up and the trade market is sparse/will cost too much/or we don't have the assets to give up. Needs for a while now have been: Top pairing RH D Skilled puck moving D At least one, preferably two top six wingers I know its obvious, but until we have those this team isn't complete enough to compete when it counts. desiboynux4lifee*******
Montreal might take Burrows. Why not??? Give us Tinordi for burrows deal of the century!!! Pull the trigger Benning! I wish sigh lol
Gstank29
Higgins could be easily replaced with Jensen, so I would bet he gets moved for a young asset. Plus his trade value is probably the highest it will get, he on a good contract and producing at a good pace
Bo.Horvat53
I really think Higgins' days are numbered in Vancouver. He's the most easy to move compared to a lot of our players. Burrows I'm sure will be tried, but will be very tricky. Not sure if this is news though, thought it was quite clear that Benning would try his best to move out dead weight to get younger and get some new faces
Gurn
"Benning wanted to move Burrows in the summer but Burrows refused to waive NTC" Burrows has said he was never asked to waive, this was discussed and settled at the beginning of the season. Noseforthenet
This team is deep with forwards. As has been said before, Higgins, Hansen, Burr are all levels of the same sort of player. We don't need all of them. And Kassian is now kind of becoming an attractive trading chip as well. Where we need to improve is defense. Sbisa-Bieksa as our second pair and Stanton-Weber as our third. Come on people!!! How long did anyone think we would be able to keep winning with so little defensive depth?! Time to deal some of the redundant forward depth for a top 4 defenseman. Likely right side.
