With some of these players in the front page of the news lately, weather it's because they're retiring or because they were put on waivers, I though it would be interesting to see where all the players from this gold medal winning team are now.

Goalies:

Brodeur- Retired

Fleury-Playing just as well or better then he was in 2010.

Luongo- Still an elite goalie

Dmen:

Doughty-Still an elite dman

Keith-Still elite

Niedermayer-retired

Pronger- retired

Seabeook- still a solid dman

Weber- still elite

Forwards:

Crosby-Still Elite

Bergeron-Went from really good to elite

Getzlaf-elite

Heatley-AHLer

Iginla- 2/3 liner but is out of his prime

Marleau-Still good, but forgotten

Morrow-one of the leagues lowest TOI

Nash-Elite

Richards-Waiver wire

Perry-Elite

Toews-Elite

Thorton-From elite to good

Stall- not as good but hard to access because of how awful the hurricanes are.

A lot of these players are not as elite as they used to be because of their age or because they retired. But it makes you think about the gold medal winning team of 2014.

Any predictions on who from the 2014 team will be on waivers or in the ahl 4 years from now?

Interesting thread. 3 players with big declines, and Morrow might end up in the AHL too in a couple years. Half the team is still elite, with some players improving over the years.

Who do I expect regression from by 2018? Smith, Bouwmeester, Hamhuis, Sharp, Marleau, Kunitz, Nash, Carter. Luongo and St. Louis with slight regression if they're still playing by then.

If I had to pick one to be on waivers, I'd say Smith.

That team is stackkked. Pronger, Doughty, Weber, Neidermeyer might be the best team we ever had. Nvm the forwards they are always stacked but man our D that year was stacked.

Canada's defense in 2014 was insane too. Heck, Subban could barely crack the top 6, and that says something considering that he's a Norris winner.

Our 2014 Defence was disgusting good. Neidermeyer and Pronger being at the end of their careers weren't super great. 2014 everyone was either at their primes or just entering. That GAA just shows how great they were.
