Apple Juice
Was driving back home from school yesterday and this thought came up to my head. Why do most sports logos, especially those featuring a face or facial-like features, go from left to right? While yes it looks more aesthetically pleasing, why not have it right to left?I've looked at all 4 major sports logos and the only teams who's logos go from right to left in accordance to facial features or in general, go left to right, are:NHLChicago BlackhawksMinnesota Wild (debatable on how you look at it)Pittsburgh PenguinsNBACleveland Cavaliers (sword going right to left)Miami HeatToronto RaptorsUtah JazzMLBCleveland IndiansToronto Blue JaysAtlanta BravesSt. Louis CardinalsNFLPhiladelphia EaglesI didn't include those that are more centred. But I ask, why? Just an interesting thought that popped up

-SN-
Because we read left to right. It's more natural and pleasing to the eye when logos follow the same pattern.
-AJ-
As others have said, in North America, we read left to right, so it's more natural for our eyes to look left to right. I'll bet if you found some Asian teams, you might find the opposite effect.
Crackers
Like everyone else, reading. It gives the impression of moving forwards.
Ghostsof1915
What way do you read? Just like an advertising giant years ago criticized doing white text on a black background. It's harder to read because we're used to reading black on white. Or as he put it. "If white text on a black background was easier to read, don't you think the New York Times would print that way?"
