Battlefield Hardline

Been playing the beta and having a lot of fun. Certainly more elements than call of duty which i uave finally given up on after not even playing a day since release. Having a tough time adjusting to the gameplay because it isnt the typical run and gun shooter.

What have been your initial thought on it? Hoping to get opinion from people who have experience on battlefield before i decide to buy it or not.

Downloaded and played it quite a bit... I think its pretty good, very fun game... it runs way better then BF4 and its only the beta...

Peaches probably didnt like the controls so gave up.... I'd like to hear what the problem with it is rather than "I downloaded the beta played 2 games of heist and uninstalled it, absolute crap."....

Please enlighten us on why?... or what would be better??... if there is something I would like to know, since I am an avid gamer and am always looking for something good to play.

edit: I would like to say I like the heist game mode. I think its innovative and gives something different... Way more to it than just running around shooting people (probably why peaches doesnt like it)

Hotwire is a different take as well... I havent played it a lot, but it seems pretty fun.. riding around in cars killing each other at high speed...

Conquest is ... well... conquest. Same as always... still fun.

My conclusion is I like Heists a lot and will probably be buying this game a few months after release (after the bugs are gone)

Could you elaborate? I'm thinking of purchasing it.

The maps are huge compared to COD so if you are thinking about converting from COD to Battlefield like the OP stated above you will hate this game. The AR's have terrible range so if a guy is 50-60 yards from you they are pretty much out of your range and seeing how you can have snipers on roofs and what not they are just basically impossible to kill unless you've got a sniper as well. When a sniper is zoomed in looking through his scope his radar is still active so you can't exactly sneak up on them. The game itself looks awful it would look awful as a last gen game and first a next gen game these graphics are simply not acceptable.

It plays really clunky its difficult to run and you basically need to be constantly running or you're not getting anywhere.

It just feels like an extremely cheap knockoff of COD.

As much as I want to bash you for playing it twice and saying its crap I have to agree.

They have taken what made Battlefield awesome and seem to have abandoned it. The graphics are sub-par, they are good graphics on a 360. The game itself feels REALLY clunky, and like peaches said, the AR range is piss poor.

Hotwire is a great idea on paper and sounds like a lot of fun, but in reality, the vehicle physics in the game suck; lots of vehicles = noob tube fest(grenade launchers etc..); it's just pure chaos, and not in a good way.

Heist is alright I suppose, except for fact that it's not a round based game. It's one side is defense and one is assault/return. With balance issues the non swapping of sides is an issue.

Latency is once again an issue, but it is beta.

In a game that is suppose to be more tactical and warlike, it takes an awful lot of bullets to bring someone down, a lot more than COD, and that's an issue... Too many times have I rifled 4-5 bullets into someones chest only for them to fluke out and headshot me while spraying an SMG and live, it's not fun.

The game overall is really unpolished, not much positive to say other than great map design and once again destructive environments.

Finally, with all the issues of a police state/militarized police in America, I feel this was an extremely poor choice of theme for a military shooter.

Pros

Great gun variety

Progression system

Map design

Destructive environment

Cons

Range on non Sniper Rifle weapons

Poor game types

Damage consistency

Hotwire is an explosive fest/feels like a race

Movement feels clunky

Poor choice of theme/Militarization of Police

Graphics are sub par, especially for next gen

Vehicle controls are below standards for a game with a focus on vehicles

Wrong type of chaos in the wrong settings.

I have played about 20 games of conquest so far.and the map they give you is pretty good and the 64 players on a console is pretty awesome. It is only a beta so gripping about graphics and lag is pretty stupid and pointless.

Has there ever been a battlefield game that didnt play clunky? Its like a hallmark of the series.

Graphics: Maybe the final textures arent in yet? Or maybe they had to dumb it down to get such large maps and numbers of players to work properly. I mean most people are playing these games on appliances, not PCs.

I just wouldnt write off a game based on the beta. Wait till release, then for the after release patches, then write it off lol.

I am a big fan of the battlefield series despite their issues from time to time. I downloaded the beta and played a couple days, however, I found myself just going back to BF4. I don't have anything terrible to say about the beta. Most of the problems seem to be beta problems but thats what we all thought about the BF4 beta and then the final game was the same thing so dont expect much polish unless there are glaring problems which i didnt see much of.

I just am struggling with the whole cops/robbers theory. It sounded awesome at first but the game has lost all tactical play style. It is a frantic, frenzied game which is not what battlefield is to me. However, this is made by Visceral and not Dice so that probably explains that. As a first entry away from the military/war shooter style this is a solid buy but I'd wait for 3 months, it'll be $39.99 and probably come with an expansion or two. Same as BF3 and BF4.
