Rumour: TSN Radio - Habs trading for Patrick Sharp

Recommended Posts

Hawks management has their dynasty movement down pat. Don't waste time waiting for guys to age and lose value, deal em when they're ripe and acquire NHL ready youngers in the bargain... makes me sad that we're still clinging onto the likes of Hansen, Higgins, Bieksa, etc.

I don't mind Hansen but ya you're bang on about the other 2. But to be fair Higgins and Bieksa wouldn't fetch all that much.

If that were the case then Hossa would have been traded already.

Win for Montreal. Eller is pretty much a Hansen type player but a centre and Tinordi hasn't shown anything really except for being big and physical. Been demoted to the A for his poor play when given a shot.

This is just a rumour so it's not for sure. Wouldn't jump the gun just yet.

... anymore. :/

Hossa is still a productive part of their top line and is absolutely ripping it up alongside Toews and Saad. Sharp is a PP specialist who's spent almost the whole year on the third line, and has been dropped down to the fourth recently.

Despite that he's got 31 pts in 43 games. He'd be in half the leagues top six. You could keep him and hope he provides depth scoring, or you could send him off and acquire an actual third liner (younger too, with upside) who could fill the role at half the cap hit and a longer contract.

For now. Only just past 2/3 of first season under new management, with TDL knocking on the door. Check lineup again before next season... or even after the draft.
