The West Coast Express is almost all gone.

Markus Naslund, age 41, retired with the New York Rangers in 2009.

Brendan Morrison, age 39, retired with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2012.

Todd Bertuzzi, age 40, is a free agent.

Other notables from that era:

Ed Jovanovski, age 38, is a free agent.

Mattias Ohlund, age 38, is on contract with Tampa Bay.

Trevor Linden, age 44, retired with the Vancouver Canucks in 2008.

Sami Salo, age 40, is a free agent.

Henrik Sedin, age 34, plays for the Vancouver Canucks.

Daniel Sedin, age 34, plays for the Vancouver Canucks.

Dan Cloutier, age 38, last played in the NHL for the Los Angeles Kings in 2006.

Alex Auld, age 34, last played in the NHL for the Ottawa Senators in 2012.

Anson Carter, age 40, last played in the NHL for the Carolina Hurricanes in 2007.

Bryan Allen, age 34, last played in the NHL for the Montreal Canadiens in 2015.

Matt Cooke, age 36, plays for the Minnesota Wild.

Jarkko Ruutu, age 39, last played in the NHL for the Anaheim Ducks in 2011.

Brent Sopel, age 38, last played in the NHL for the Montreal Canadiens in 2011, retired on February 27, 2015, and had pretty awesome hair.

Anyone have any good memories about these guys? Do you think we have anyone in our system who could become the West Coast Express, Vol. 2?

You missed the cooker.

NASLUND DASHING IN... 15 seconds to go, Markus Naslund. To the net. Shoots

SCOOOOOOREESSSSS MATT COOKE CASHING IN 5.6 SECOND TO GO! And they're still alive!

I'd love if Matt came and finished his career here.

Also Jarkko Ruutu (sp)

Man oh man, does anyone else think that Anson Carter was kicking himself in the tush for listening to his agent and not staying here? He left for a million a season more, and one year later he is playing in the Swiss League. What he should have taken as more of a sign? In 81 games with Vancouver he had 33 goals, and 22 assists. Coinky Dink? I think not...

P.S. - Loved Jovocop. Still my top 5 all-time Canucks.

I just read this post to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qulDu0TrC3g I want to cry...

Looking at the Sedins being the young guys... it makes me feel weird.

I grew up watching everyone on the WCE era. I remember Klatt, Malik, Druken, Cassels.... Naslund and Bertuzzi were my hockey idols. They still both hold special places in my heart. Jovanovski was another personal favourite too, as well as Cooke before he was a cheap shot. I'll never forget coming back against the Blues in 03. Pure magic. Of course we blew it in the next round though.
