We got lucky tonight luck can only take you so far they need to be better plain and simple

Well, it was a combination of luck, skill, etc. Bo's goal wasn't luck, it was pure skill. Vrbata used absolute patience on his second goal. Eddie's been determined in his efforts.

All teams need a little luck on their side and, at times, we've had none.

We do have to be better but let's just ride out some positivity and see where it takes us?

Why do people not like George strombo? I think he's doing a great job

I find him to be a great interviewer. He asks excellent questions and not the repetitive normal media questions. I always watched his show. I would love if he did a thing like Q as I found Gomeshi a great interviewer as well.

People had been too hard on Lack, recently. Sure, he had a couple bad games, which was probably the result of fatigue. Still think he's a great 'tender, & now he's really starting to shine.

Three or four games lately, he's been the difference. Calling it now, it's gonna' inspire his buddy Jacob, as well. Next game that JM gets in, he'll be dynamite too.

The problem here is some fans have no reality check and expect perfection, night in/out. Those are the same ones who turn on the team at every loss and throw in the towel like it's a season. There is a reason we keep track of points in an 82 game deal...there are ups and downs. Teams that start out on top don't always finish that way and riding out the waves is part of being a reasonable fan.

I hate that fans turn on players at every opportunity....they have short attention spans or something. Some truly don't comprehend how tough it is to battle in the NHL....this isn't a cakewalk. NO team rips through steadily without hitting bumps in the road at times.

Eddie has the right attitude...he is happy go lucky and seemingly enjoying the ride. My advice would be for some fans to follow that lead.

People generally have short attention spans, and I think it has a lot to do with the Canucks steamrolling through the season in 2010/2011 so a lot of the newer fans are pampered.

With that said my issue isn't with us losing games every now and then, it's the team being absolutely asleep on the ice at times. That 5 minute OT against the Yotes? How many turnovers was it lol?

i think you hit the nail on the head with 2011. While many fans claim to have watched every canucks game since 1987, i do believe that many fans hopped on board in 2011. That was a dream season. No player could do any wrong. even when we win the cup in the future its unlikely that it will be a smooth a ride as that season. What fans are seeing now is adversity and mediocrity. We're still better than about half the nhl. People need to realise that we're very fortunate to have such a good team. It could be worst. Look at Toronto.

Well said, precisely.

People bought into winning moreso than hockey. And now they're seeing the real deal.

This team is very unpredictable and consistency and effort need to be addressed for sure. But it isn't a cakewalk for any team and some seem to expect it to be. Boy, the teams of the past while have been a dream in comparison to what some of us have suffered through and there needs to be an appreciation of how tough it really is to be a "top" team.

Funny we're talking about this because i was thinking about 2011 the other day. I think if that team Had faced some adversity in the regular season we would have had a better finals (Win). The team was never challenged until the playoffs. The twins in particular arent the offensive juggernauts they were that year but you definitely see pushback now that you didnt in 11.

I also think we had rotten/no luck back then. It goes that way...things swing with/away from teams at times and there are so many factors in the pieces all coming together.

But yeah, for sure.....they got used to winning and then the playoffs happened. As it is, things are kicked up a hundred notches and then fell apart. But it all just demonstrates (and pays respect to) the fact that winning a cup is an extremely difficult deal. A battle right to the end and, especially with fatigue and injury weighing in, survival of the fittest is a large part of it.

hardest trophy to win in all of sports.

Sharks came out fired up, and then choked when we pushed back.

The reality of 3 "playoff" games against the Kings sets in. That's their ticket in.

If we can get 2 of those 3 in regulation we will be in good shape. It still concerns me we've given up the first goal in 17 of the last 21.

Canucks are overachieving right now but that is great. I get excited about their games not because I think they are a CUP contender but for signs of what they will be in a few years. Horvat has really took off since X-Mass when rookies can fall off. Kenins was scratched last night but his play has been a treat as well.

Another worthy mention IMO is Sbisa. He has made great strides this year. As a maturing dman he has a physical side that Van has needed on the back end for a very long time. Cannot remember the Shark but Sbisa nailed him in front of the net as he fished for the puck. Turnovers by the d-core continued last night and Lack was there to bail them out. Lack is establishing himself as a legit #1 which makes Miller tradeable. Miller could bring a significant asset back. Benning should trade him to SJ as Nieme is probably done. SJ is bringing a lot of youth up and Miller could snag one of them.
