Mathew Barzal
Which would be either the Isles or Blues depending on how the Kane trade plays out. Louis Jean @LouisJean_TVA Follow @BuffaloSabres are open for business. GM Tim Murray told counterparts he is willing to trade his second 1st round pick in '15 for right deal What do you guys think? I think for once we actually have the pieces that could snag this 1st rounder and then some. Lack/Miller + Matthias/Richardson + ? for 1st + Olofsson (modo gen 3.0 yo) + Bailey + ? ^ Just spitballing, not even sure if it makes sense. CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Lack at best is maybe a late 2nd rounder or early third round pick...as good as he has shown in all honesty he is a great backup goalie. Miller left Buffalo to win, and Buffalo doesn't give him any ounce of doing that before he retires. He is staying out west until the day people tell him to shut it down.. Matthias and Richardson are both upcoming UFA's so if Buffalo really wanted them they would overpay them just so they can reach cap floor. If Buffalo really wanted them they would rather wait then waste an asset to acquire them. Considering they are looking for young players in return to help replenish their rebuild I would think more on the lines of Clendening, Corrado, Baertschi, Jensen, Shinkaruk, Gaunce etc... are players that would be involved...which really doesn't help us as its counter productive to give away already NHL ready guys and young players who are ready to make a difference that we are desperately in need of right now. Is selling those guys above worth a late first round pick? It is a deep draft but your just delaying the process of our team moving forward...guys like above are within maybe 1-2 years or ready now in making an absolute difference, as that 1st round pick will take 4-5+ years before they see any lime light in the pros. BanTSN
As funny as it would be to give them back Miller, I don't see a fit. As for Lack or Markstrom plus a UFA securing a 1st rounder, good luck.

Guest Dasein
Of course they are - they are already rich in prospects and the only one that could make their team significantly better is the lottery pick in McEichel The other 1st should be in play to acquire a proven roster player or a blue chip prospect who should make the NHL next season as to fast track the rebuild
jdatb
hahahahahahahaha if the Blues/Isles win the Cup then maybe these trades will work.
Warhippy
What do the Sabres need. They need a goalie. They need back end veteran presence. They need top and bottom 6 presence and a dependable 2 way forward. Regardless of what JD says. We more than have the key pieces for Buffalo to make this trade. We also have a massive glut of vets on the back end now with the Hutton signing that forces us to make a trade or let pieces simply walk. While I don't see us being able to outbid other teams. We more than have the current roster and AHL pieces to net another 1st round pick, and Buffalo holds two of them which will be in the very late 1st round
missioncanucksfan
Maybe tell him to go F himself...surely the price will be jacked and he is just "throwing it out there" to build up hype n interest Surely Murray and his office staff are bustin a gut reading sites like this and HF Boards just to see the stupid trade offers he can get
Pears
Lack at best is maybe a late 2nd rounder or early third round pick...as good as he has shown in all honesty he is a great backup goalie. That's why iy doesn't make sense to trade Lack unless it's in a package for a top six forward, top 4 D man, or a high first round pick.
aGENT
This thread pops up every year...just like Florida was "willing to listen to offers" last year Yeah, if we give them our best prospect, Higgins, Lack and our next two firsts, they'll gladly give us their first Edit...NVM, just saw the "non" in the title
TOMapleLaughs
Not a surprise. McEichel signals a rapid turnaround. Or at least an attempt at one.
D-Money
It won't come cheap. They'll be looking for NHL-ready youth to accelerate things. Tanev may be the type of player they are looking for. If he's asking for too much, maybe JB considers it.

Intoewsables
Edler + ? There's no way in hell we're giving up Edler just to get a late 1st, let alone adding to him. Ridiculous.
