(PROPOSAL)VAN-NJ

Recommended Posts

The only players I see them interested in would be vey and Higgins. They have a young goalie in kinkaid, so lack or markstrom wouldn't be necessary. Jensen is a throw in of sorts. Seeing as they're not making the playoffs this year the pick will be a good one especially as 2015/16 both seem to be good draft years I don't see them trading a first in either year. Quantity does not equate a first in a good draft year in my opinion. Perhaps to a team without a chance at the draft lottery

NJ 2015 1st will be a top 10 pick. Once again this proves my point that just cause it works in NHL 15 doesnt mean if does in real life. You are trading more than players you are trading people, ALSO HIGGINS HAS A NTC FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME, SO HE WONT WAVE to go to NJD

Maybe try Vey and Markstrom plus pick for a defenseman from Arizona (Connor Murphy?).

Wouldn't trade that much, plus (as mentioned) why would Jersey trade their 1st when rebuilding? I'd go Vey and 2016 3rd for Gelinas or another of their offensive D-men.

But Kassian for Wood and a 3rd would happen in real life right?

Higgins has a limited ntc. I've asked on this forum a few times but don't think it is public what the limits are. He currently lives in Vancouver (West Van, isn't it?) but went to high school and university in Connecticut.

Regardless, I also don't see this deal happening.

Firstly, they have Schneider so their goalie situation is sorted.

If we're going to get their 1st round pick, here's what it'd take:

TO VAN: 1st round pick (top-10)

TO NJD: 1st round pick (17th overall) + A-grade prospect (McCann) + current young roster player (Vey) + B-grade prospect/3rd rounder/depth player (Stanton)

It'll be hard to move up into the deep top-10 this draft, but I reckon that'd be worth it if we're able to snag someone like Strome, Marner, Zacha or Barzal and have a new cornerstone center to build this new team around.
