Can anyone translate this or tell me what it is?1926070_10152825219126475_61888269895838

It appears that it's written in Chinese, specifically simplified characters.

Looks like it's a tomb stone. Reading from right to left, as Asians would read it, there's an emphasis on love (or heart love, literally translated). There's also the word "sky" in the second column, as well as "person/man".

Something about wind on the very last line.

IMO, my best guess is that it is a tomb stone. Perhaps it's a memorial stone for those fallen in war?

Simplified came out during Mao ZeDong, so I would say this picture is not earlier than 1950-60's.

It's not the clearest, but let me try:

"Twenty-three men surrounded by mountains and trees

Brought together and led by two men from the wheat grows

Held battle against teams from the place where the sun sets

Three other bands and tribes they warred against

Before they faced their final foe.

Seven times they did battle with the ones from the east

but the twenty-three from mountains and trees

prevailed to rule the land

They claimed from the other tribe a silver bowl

And paraded it throughout their streets"

Again, it's pretty vague, so I could be wrong.

You look like you're translating something completely different.

I don't see the specific numbers that you're putting up - also, there's no reference to mountains or streets.

Not to mention, there is an absence of the word "love", when it shows up TWICE.

Umm thanks for trying, but I don't think that's even close. :D

If you needed a translation on this, how would you even know if he was right or not?

I should give him an applause for coming up with a creative answer though.

Haha I should have been clearer. I do speak and read mandarin, which is the language the inscriptions are in, but I only recognize a few characters on it since it is so messy.

It looks like that's the style of it, especially given the fact that it can be from the 50s to even the 90's.

He was clearly joking.

His "translation" is a parody of chinese poetry, talking about the Canucks winning the Stanley Cup.

Just comes to show you how great a different perspective is.

I think we were far too narrow in our vision that a lot of us missed it. Now I see it.

Nice...
