Baer.
Gonna be an interesting game tomorrow. Put Lack in back to back or put Markstrom in against one of the top teams in the league.
poetica
Anyone heard if the NHL is even pretending to look at the head hit from Ritchie to Monahan last night? It was deliberate head contact without even an attempt at body contact and possibly using his stick as a weapon. This is exactly the kind of hit the NHL needs to address with a suspension, regardless of whether or not it result in injury.
RUPERTKBD
Anyone catch the cheap shot by Brett Ritchie on Sean Monahan last night? Looked like a textbook butt-end to me, but as usual, the zebras were into "game management" mode and only assessed a high sticking minor. The league is conspicuously silent a day later as well. Yet they claim to be trying to eliminate head shots.... Edit: Sorry Poetica. Missed your post. Completely agree.

Absolute BS that the NHL doesn't seem to even be looking into it. Deserved a fine at the very least and that's after giving the "late in the season" discount that proves the DoPS cares more about some things more than player safety. Master Mind
No worries. I agree with yours too! Absolute BS that the NHL doesn't seem to even be looking into it. Deserved a fine at the very least and that's after giving the "late in the season" discount that proves the DoPS cares more about some things more than player safety. Player safety seems to be the last thing on their minds. Not sure how they benefit from letting Ritchie get away with it. If anything, it'll just lead to more problems down the road. 420since1974
DEFINITELY a punch to the face with the addition of the butt end of the stick. Good to see that Monahan didn't milk it, just shook it off, and was ready for his next shift.

If anything, it'll just lead to more problems down the road. It certainly seems that way. Not sure why they would let him get away with it because, as I said, it seems like the exact kind of avoidable head contact they say they're trying to get out of the game.
