According to Dean Blundell, a radio host for Sportsnet, a station under the Rogers umbrella, Mike Babcock is asking for $40 million over 6 years as well as control over player personnel to become the next head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He knows his coaching career is over if he goes there. Might as well cash in!

Bob McKenzie thinks the Oilers are the front runner.

Makes perfect sense. The players that make up that roster are beyond saving. Babcock knows what it takes to win and what players not to build around. The only player on the Leafs that should be considered untouchable at this point is Morgan Reilly.

Bob McKenzie thinks the Oilers are the front runner.

If Babcock ends up leaving the Wings (sad day if this happens), Oilers make the most sense for him, followed closely by the Sabres.
