ShakyWalton
Sounds logical..certainly the kind of player they need to compliment their young players and ride shotgun for McDavid...stranger things have happened....wouldnt be looking forwards to playing the coilers 6 times a year.... With both the Edmonton Oilers and Boston Bruins finished up disappointing campaigns and this has the trade rumor mill spinning once again. With the Oilers winning the draft lottery, this has further fuelled speculation that there are big changes in Edmonton. Their recent hiring of former Hockey Canada honcho Bob Nicholson as CEO and former Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli as GM and president of hockey operations provides further speculation of major off-season moves for the Oilers. Joe Haggerty of CSNNE noted these big changes and he believes that Oilers top-line wingers Taylor Hall or Jordan Eberle could be available for trade. He feels the Bruins should consider offering up power forward Milan Lucic for Hall or Eberle. Prior to the lottery, former Oilers GM Craig MacTavish reportedly told Hall, Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins they won’t be dealt, but with his replacement, that could soon change. Lucic on the other hand is coming off a down year and is a UFA next summer. Haggerty feels Edmonton could be just the place where he could land a big payday. The Oilers are also lacking size up front and could use a player of Lucic’s particular skill-set. However, whether the Oilers would be willing to give up a core asset for a player who could bolt after one season has yet to be seen, but should the trade happen and Lucic play decently, he could be re-signed to the big money he is used to. PhillipBlunt
I can see Benning making a play for Lucic. Vancouver is one of the few teams he'd be willing to waive for. I don't see him wanting to go to Edmonton, if Vancouver is interested. Imagine Kassian Horvat Lucic. Oh man. They'd reduce Ferland to a fine paste. Hunter_74
I sure hope not. I would much rather his Ego and his Classless Antics stay in Boston, or at least the Eastern Conference.

I think thats possible and would love to see that line....but if the coilers offer up Hall or Eberle...its more than we can come up with without raiding our prospects..McDavid has made Edmonton a much more attractive destination..but there is something to be said about playing in your hometown. They have had such a climate of losing and fan hatred that it will take a few years to shake it. And Benning is looking to build a heavy team. Lucic is right in line with that and would be playing where he lives and he's from. And in the end it's Milan's decision with his NTC.

The Magician
http://blogs.edmontonjournal.com/2014/12/05/jordan-eberle-to-be-traded-for-odds-n-ends-of-boston-bruins-huh/ Lots of reports from around December that Boston had interest in Eberle and they still probably do (seeing as they could use the youth and skill). Lucic would make a lot of sense for Edmonton. It'll be interesting.
thejazz97
Virtanen Pedan Horvat Tryamkin Kassian Gaunce Pettit Kenins Labate McCann Cassels McEneny Cederholm Demko and then throw Lucic in there Benning's building himself a big, young, feisty lineup. Didn't it go as a far as people vandalizing his Church or something? I think I recall some harsh remarks from him about us as well.

McBackup
I don't really want Lucic here, but I strongly suspect if he were to come to Vancouver a lot of, if not all the bad blood would be water under the bridge at that point.
Hugor Hill
Wait 1 more year. He will be an ufa in 2016
Bissurnette
Hopefully not but it does make sense. I'd hate to play them if they have Lucic protecting McDavid tho. I definitely don't think WE should trade for Lucic. He's a UFA in 1 year, if he decides that he can put all the shenanigans behind and would be interested in signing here then sure, but we shouldn't try to give up assets for him especially if he doesn't want to play here
Blueberries
He's a UFA next year right? We can let Vrbata go and pick him up. His dream comes true and we get a mean top six.
wallstreetamigo
Why do people think he automatically wants to play in Vancouver? I would bet money that given his choice of the two he would choose Edmonton at this point. Much better personal opportunity as a player and much better chance at big money on his next contract. Edmonton is going to get much better in a hurry with a sudden commitment to hiring the right hockey people rather than ex oilers.
