tas
when you can only dress 6 dmen, it's hard to dedicate a roster spot to an undersized, defensively deficient dman with good but not great offensive talent. focus on size, meanness and defensive abilities first and hope that guys like weber, clendening, corrado, hutton and potentially mcnally can bring the offense. let subban walk. on topic, good for stewart. battled more adversity than the vast majority of us do and ended up landing an nhl contract. i have my doubts that he'll ever earn a full time roster spot, but an admirable achievement nonetheless. SabreFan1
There are going to be alot of "why didn't you sign Subban?!?!?!" posts coming Then there will be some posts talking about how he's the greatest thing since sliced bread and has loads of potential. It always happens with new Canucks signings. For example, Cory Conacher.
Bigturk8
let subban walk. I asked this in the Subban thread earlier but didn't get a straight answer. Is there any reason that we don't sign Subban and then deal him for a pick? It just seems like a waste to let him walk for nothing, and I'd imagine he'd hold comparable value to Forsling when we dealt him.

Ossi Vaananen
he's a 95 so he's eligible for the AHL/ECHL next year. I think he's going to be an overager though.

JohnLocke
NO! I was hoping we signed Mackenzie Blackwood, the consensus 1st overall pick this year.
boxiebrown
I know he has a great story, but this was a total waste of a pick, and now we've doubled down and made it a total waste of a contract slot. Absolutely no reason to sign him.

Ossi Vaananen
I think it sets a pretty clear standard for JB that he wants size and toughness. Sbisa and Dorsett cleaned up, acquired Pedan for a pick, signed Stewart and LaBate. I think we know who made the Bruins mean.
