If the Sharks trade Thornton it's to get younger/rebuild so it seems really odd they would proceed to give up a top pick and a young D for a bunch of middle aged players, a goalie, and a worse pick. Alternatively that IS the elephant in the room. Thorton COULD very well be moved. In fact I think it is in his and SJ's best interests to move apart. SJ for the pieces it gives in return, Thorton for a cup shot.
