Hidden Panda
http://www.realtor.com/news/celebrity-real-estate/christian-ehrhoff-selling-pennsylvania-home/ "Headed for free agency, Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Christian Ehrhoff is selling his home in Upper Saint Clair, PA, for $1,295,000. The listing comes shortly before his one-year, $4 million contract with the Penguins expires this summer. The 32-year-old blueliner bought the 4,280-square-foot home in August for $1.15 million, shortly after signing with the Penguins." Seems like Pittsburgh isn't interested in re-signing Ehrhoff... The question is, would he still be of service here? He had the best 2 seasons of his career here and it could be the 1st step to rebuilding the 2010-2011 team that took us to the finals haha. 48MPHSlapShot
We need an offensive minded Dman. I honestly wouldn't be against kicking the tires on him (for the right price).

73 Percent
Not the same player he was 5 years ago. No thanks
48MPHSlapShot
I rather try for Franson, but if the Hoff is the best we can do as far as Dmen who can actually put up points, why not? (Again, for the right price)
Warhippy
I would take Error-Hoff back in a heartbeat over the Bartkowski rumours. he clicked like nobody else with Edler the twins and Burrows. THAT is the kind of PMD we need back here. Experience with our best PP players and top D man. Over endless experiments with plugs and Sbisa's
TOMapleLaughs
Maybe we can get Torres back too. Or if not, Malhotra.

TheRussianRocket.
He's signing in Edmonton. It's his best chance to win the Cup.
DownUndaCanuck
I'd rather try for Franson at 4-4.5M than Ehrhoff at 3.5-4M. Either way we're going to have to clear some cap space by trading a veteran for picks, whether it be Burrows (unlikely), Bieksa (I wish) or Higgins (most likely). If we could somehow trade Bieksa away as well as Higgins, that would free up enough cap space to throw 5-6M at a guy like Green though who would re-invent this defence: Edler - Tanev Hamhuis - Green Sbisa - Clendening Corrado
Tom Sestito
He's signing in Edmonton. It's his best chance to win the Cup. If I'm him, Edmonton is interesting as a landing spot. Best coach, new stadium. He'll be 33 by seasons start. Edmonton's need for three top four defensemen goes to two. Offers a veteran presence. Chemistry is something that can't be taught and I wouldn't doubt all four would do well together again. Also a nice stop-gap if we end up dealing Hammer and Juice in the top four. Edler - Tanev Ehrhoff - Corrado Sbisa - Clendenning We're not contenders so I wouldn't mind going into the season with that.
aGENT
If he'd sign for $2.5m-$3m for say 2, maybe 3 years...sure. Be an ok stop gap until one of Subban, Hutton, McNally etc can start to fill the role of PMD. Doubt he'd sign for that though.
Provost
He likes the smell of money. I think that is pretty unfair. He put himself into position to be able to cash in once in his entire career, and he took a big contract to play on a team that lots of folks at the time thought was on the way up. Pretty much anyone would do the same for the opportunity to set up their family for generations. Playing careers are short and bad crap can happen to end it quickly. He has the money in the bank now and can decide based on either chance or winning, quality of life, or getting to play a meaningful role as his career winds down. Who knows what he would pick. If you added an Erhoff and Mcquaid to our defence and subtracted Stanton and Bieksa we would be much better off. More points and more toughness. I also think Ehrhoff is a better fit. Franson is kind of slow.

awalk
Benning made an offer to him last summer apparently. If he takes a pay cut, sure ... but why do that when some bottom feeding cap hungry team will just pay him more
Canuck Surfer
Not first on my list, but pretty sure he would help! I am not in favour of an all out re build. But I would like to see some restructuring on D part and parcel. One of Griffin Reinhart or Ryan Pullock should be available from the Isles? Vrbata & our first?
