What a month for the Habs, who ended the month of October with the best record in the CDCGML. Art imitates life sometimes, it seems.  :P

Montreal's October 3 Stars

3rd Star - Max Domi (58 points) - What a start for the rookies in Montreal, with Dylan Larkin (51 points), Colin Miller (44 points), Joe Morrow (13 points) and Anton Slephshev (7 points) all contributing. But none have done more than Tie's kid out in the desert, as his 5 goals, 6 assists for 11 points are a big part of the early success in Montreal.

2nd Star - Henrik Lundqvist (60 points) - The King is off to another solid start, but it's not like we expected any differently. 5 wins and a pair of extra-time defeats have provided a solid start, but it's not like his backup Thomas Griess (50 points) has been too shabby either. The crease has been well protected in Montreal so far.

1st Star - Jason Demers (74 points) - We'd have bet a lot of money on a different player on the roster leading the team in points through the first month, and we'd have lost. Jason has been incredible to begin the year, as his 3 goals and 4 assists feature a GWG, a SHG and a PPG, so he's playing all sorts of important minutes. And to think, he missed two games due to a suspension (though he did earn a few PIM's in the game prior)...

New+York+Rangers+1000.jpg

The New York Rangers, *Live from Madison Square Garden(*consult our home game schedule), are proud to announce the OCTOBER 3 STARS:

3rd Star: Defending our end of the ice and contributing to our offensive success, the third star of October is none other than Andrej Sekera. With an outstanding plus minus of 12 GML points and 24 points from assists, Andrej proves time and again what an elite defender can do. With only 2 sin bin points all month, this defender deserves his 3rd star honours.

2nd Star: Punching above his weight for the second season in a row, it is no doubt we see once again Juri Hudler earning 2nd star honours. Juri has established himself as a premier forward in our league and while we shouldn't be surprised to see him do it again this month, some would say, WOW! A well rounded 49 pool points in October lends to Juri's star status league wide!

1st Star: Thomas Vanek started the season a bit slow with limited ice time, or else he would have really run away with Top Star of the Month. Finishing with 51 pool points after turning it on for the last 6 games, it is easy to see why Thomas is a fan and GM favourite here at Madison Square Garden.

Honourable Mention: Mike Smith has topped the pool points for New York this month and looks to have rebounded from last years abysmal season. In the Month of October Mike went 4-3-1 while appearing in 10 games. His 3.18 GAA and .902  SV% will no doubt improve as the season progresses, and we have complete faith in Mike's health and game this year. His 55 pool points have earned him the Honourable Mention for the Month of October.

Updated Lines and depth chart to follow later today.
