Bo's contract looks like a steal atm. Boeser if signed long term will look like a steal as soon as next season. Crossing my fingers

Its 99.9% chance that the deal will look like a steal 2 or 3 years into it. Plus cap goes up 2-3 M a year. Max length $7-8M. Whatever it takes, I think we should lock him up. There is the problem of the cap though. I think if he were signed for $8M, we'd need to move some players off the team to make room for his cap hit from what I recall. He could be replaced for far less, or you know...use that 3m guy named Beagle for D zone draws and let Gaud do his thing. Offensive minded C- Elias and Gaud. Defensive minded 1st C- Beagle and the 2 way guy Bo Sutter and his over 4m cap hit needs to go, schaller and Loui need to go to utica and buring 2m combined for them. Maybe that PTO Ferraro beats them out and signs league minimum as the 13th forward for now and then gets waived when Roussel is back?

Just tried on capfriendly, if send down Loui, Schaller and Biega and have Rousell on LTIR with Boeser signed @ $8M per for 8 years there is still ~$2.1 M in space, once Rousell comes back we would be over by ~$900k, sending down Goldobin or Motte would give us enough space, although it would be better as you said to move some contracts.

Add to it some inevitable injuries and call ups. You can see how it worked on a day to day basis last year: https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/canucks/cap-tracker Edited September 8, 2019 by Jimmy McGill

Popular Post Slegr
I'm a big Brock fan, but I have to admit, I will lose some respect for him if he doesn't get something signed and show up to training camp. If he's waiting on the Marner mess, then he's basically guaranteeing that he'll won't sign until after the season starts, because Marner is waiting for Toronto to put their cap-cheating play into action with placing players on injured reserve to free up cap space. Call me old fashioned, but if you're an RFA, you don't hold out your services if you're being offered something reasonable. I feel for Brock with his personal circumstances and his father's health, but being with a team at training camp is an important step to having a productive season. Just ask Nylander. Brock needs to get a deal done stat, whether short term or long term, and get ready for a busy training camp weekend. His team needs him, and just as importantly, he needs the team.
Raspberries
sigh: Dan Murphy @sportsnetmurph Boeser camp and the #canucks had discussions as late as yesterday evening but a deal is certainly not imminent. Bridge deal seems more likely at this point.
wildwood12
If Brock’s agent asks anything lower than what Loui Erickson is making, he should be fired.

bree2
come on Boeser, don't be a Nylander, the Canucks need you at camp! it would be nice if Benning would keep the fans informed

Being transparent about how negotiations are going doesn't help anyone. Besides, most fans are seemingly incapable of taking said information and just accepting it. 1

Thing is, the team (hopefully) has learned from their mistakes and no one should get away with another LE heist. So...no. Agents who jeopardize their client's future (which can happen if camp starts and they're not there, getting in game shape and, thereby, potentially risking further injury) need to be looked at closely. While they're negotiating the best deal for everyone....what is in their client's best interest must be considered in relation to a big picture, not just an immediate cash settlement. I'm sure that's part of it - that they're already thinking down the road for Brock in securing his future...but things are underway soon. Time missed now is detrimental if it means a sluggish start that factors in to the overall stats and/or health related risks. Guys a step behind in it all (especially if they've sustained previous injury) should want to be there from the get go! 1 1
