As much as I like this deal, I think the Canucks are going to be sorry for underestimating him and he's gonna score over 40 goals.  We'll be paying over 9 Mill/year in the next contract.

I really hope you're right. I hope we have a 9m/ season worthy player on the team.

Because by taking the deal he just took, maybe he decides 8.5 is enough. Or 8... and the rest of the team can be built around that/him. Not that he had a mountain of leverage in this deal, but he probably could have held out for slightly more money, wasted a week or a month doing so but he got a respectable deal done with still enough time in main camp to get some workouts in and be on the same page as everybody as a team.

My opinion on him has definitely improved, not just as a player; if he's a team guy, that's as golden as his flow.

Boeser is a highly underrated offensive thread. Those that simply refer to him as a "triggerman" really don't know what the hell they're talking about. If he can remain healthy, and with proper support around him, I could easily see him averaging nearly a PPG pace for the next decade or so. Hell, he's almost there now, and he's had to play on some BAD teams with virtually no offensive support from the blueline. Now he's going to have Hughes and Myers feeding him the puck instead of Gudbranson and Pouliot.

Super glad this is done and out of the way!

Really impressed with Benning, considering the kind of dough that being paid to top players of late. This really helps take some of the crunch out of the cap facing the Nucks.

Good deal for everyone!

Now get out there Brock, and show everyone what you're really worth! We all know you can do it!

and that's what him and his agent are banking on too. they probably weren't taking a long term deal for less than 7.5, maybe 8, and if the canucks signed him to that kind of deal today youd be calling it risky.

this is a deal that makes sense for both sides. well done.

I wonder how many games Brock can get into? Hoping at least 1 or 2 games.

Not sure, but the usual is about 6-8 I think.

Then Brock will play 5 to 7.

Well he didn't get the training camp conditioning yet and a lot of times the best players don't play too many pre-season games usually.

He missed camp, so maybe he needs extra preseason games to compensate?

That's fair, could be how it turns out.

A very reasonable and relatively team-friendly deal. Will all the posters who called Brock greedy and entitled now acknowledge that they were projecting their own greed?

Hopefully we'll be able to slot him into 3 or 4 games still. Hope Green doesn't put him alongside Miller and Horvat, he needs to get some time with Pettersson and Ferland.

steal deal for nucks...thats below his value imo but super stoked to have Brock back. Kinda afraid what value his next contract will be though....jesis. But for the next 3 years we are blessed by his sniping skills and Petey finally has his partner in crime back. Thank god it worked out so well.

This more of the way it was in the 90's players signed 3-4 year contracts.  The problem with these long term deals is they work out about as often as they don't and when they don't your stuck with someone or forced to give up assets to get rid of them.  Plus short term contracts keep players hungry.  BTW not saying a long term contract wouldn't be good in Brocks case but things change injuries derail careers systems change etc.   Glad to have Brock back and wish him the best.
