Adam Gaudette | #96 | C

NHL'er

Benning is pissing me off. Hes not taking a chance on a homerun pick and keeps takingng safe players. We already have too many of these players

Really?

Have you seen our prospect pool? Not a lot of "safe bets" to be NHL-ers.

Slightly outdated article from 2014 but nonetheless, provides some clarification on this pick.

Thayer Academy forward Adam Gaudette will be joining prep school teammates Lincoln Griffin and Jon Barry at Northeastern University, the player announced via twitter on Tuesday afternoon.

The '96 from Braintree, Mass. was one of the top uncommitted forwards left in the region. He participated in this past weekend's Cedar Rapids RoughRiders camp and will likely take his game to the USHL in the fall if he makes the roster, according to Scott Herbst.

Gaudette and Griffin combined to be the top scoring duo in prep school hockey this past winter. Gaudette has the ability to be a finisher as well as a setup guy. It will be interesting to see if the pair are reunited on a line once they both arrive on St. Botolph St.

Gaudette, a product of Tim Lovell's Boston Advantage program, played for former NHLer and BU alum Tony Amonte at Thayer. A six-foot right shot center, Gaudette has good upside and is a nice pickup for Northeastern's coaching staff. Assistants Jerry Keefe and Patrick Foley have been gaining some steam on the recruiting trail of late.

Is Lincoln Griffin still available?

I still stand by my statement that Benning MUST have seen something that others haven't with him.

Another college educated-based player.

He's committed for Northeastern University. Benning loves his Boston players. He MUST have seen something in this guy than others haven't.

Good thing with these guys is that you don't have to make a decision to sign them right away.
