(Value of) Shea Theodore and Madison Bowey

Recommended Posts

Washington is currently in a win now mode since Ovechkin, Backstrom and Holtby are still in their primes. I was just wondering what would it take to pry Bowey from them? Could something like this work at the trade deadline?

To Washington: Vrbata and Hamhuis

To Vancouver: Madison Bowey and 2016 3rd

Or could this work?

To Washington: Vrbata, Hamhuis, and 2016 2nd

To Vancouver: Bowey and 2016 1st

I honestly have no idea what Shea Theodore is worth after putting up point per game numbers in the AHL

I feel like next season we would probably be picking in the 10-15 range so our 2nd rounder would be a high pick

Thoughts?

We DEFINITELY could've got him in the Kesler trade, it's just that GMJB wanted Sbisa and a first instead of Theodore

Or maybe Benning asked for Theodore and Anaheim said no. It takes two to trade. What a player is worth and what a team is willing to give up is two different things.

I think Theodore may be available, and the Canucks and Ducks have grown a pretty hospitable trading partnership so far.

TO ANA: McCann

TO VAN: Theodore

Swapping former first round picks, and filling each team's needs. The Ducks lack good center prospects to replace Getzlaf and the Canucks lack good defencemen to replace Hamhuis and Edler in particular. With the Oilers and Flames solidifying their bluelines, the Canucks have to do the same.

Was just looking at the Capitals depth for RHD, Bowey isn't going anywhere. They have John Carlson and Matt Niskanen as NHL ready d-men who are RHD. Theoretically, Bowey could be ready for bottom pairing next season. And with only 5 spots definitely spoken for in Carlson, Niskanen, Alzner, Orlov, and Orpik, I really can't see Bowey, who is one of their highest rated prospects going anywhere.

Opportunity cost of Theodore = Shinkaruk.

Isn't Orlov a RHD?

They also just got Oshie as a wing I think.

Probably hard to get them to the table ATM...

Why is everyone trying to trade McCann before he can show us what he's got???? Yet Kassian was here for years and people gripe about untapped potential????
