Crom!
With Bieksa gone we are going to need a new offensive specialist to run the PP. Now everyone knows that Luca Sbisa is Beiksa's replacement, and that he has better intangables and has more grit, but he lacks Beiska's offensive touch. Most people think that there is no one on the market like that but there dead wrong. We have just the guy in our own system! The Canucks drafted Kirill Koltsov a few years back and he has been developing on our farm team in the KHL. He's been tearing up the KHL lately and is considered by the top hockey analysts as the Russian Duncan Keith. My proposal is to finally sign our draft pick, Kirill Koltsov, to an NHL deal. After that we trade Tanev and a 5th for a high 3rd round pick to make room. Then give Sbisa an "A" to mark his transformation into our next Bieksa. I think we could easily go a few playoff rounds deep with that D core.
BM24
I hear he's compared to Duncan Keith regularly. Canucks should probably jump on this.
Ilya Kovalchuk.
I like this deal for the Canucks a lot.
Kazmanian Devil
hm Edler - Koltsov Sbisa - Weber Hamhuis - Clendening I'd say trade Edler too, so Pedan can slot in. Maybe for a solid 3rd liner like Booth or Matthias.
Patrick Kane
Can confirm, Kolstov is the Russian Duncan Keith.
SOB for MVP
What's stopping Chicago from jumping in on this and getting two Duncan Keiths? They are looking for a replacement for Oduya.

Crom!
If they didn't match they could use those picks to draft him again because theirs no way he would leave the KHL for a crappy team like the Black hawks.
canucklehead44
On a more serious note it would have been awesome to give Koltsov a one year deal instead of Bartkowski or Weber, perhaps 3 million? It seems with the current situation in Russia players are more willing to come to NA. He lead his team in goals, assists, points and +/-. The season prior he had 35 points in 48 games. His teammate, the once highly touted Filatov had 20 in 35. And Babchuk who scored 16 goals 35 points on the blueline for Carolina four years earlier scored just 12 points in 54 games. He's also 5'11" and 176 lbs. Why would he leave the KHL where he plays tax free, and has been there for over a decade? I can't tell if this is a sarcastic joke and people are just running with it, or what?

He scored 18 goals, 48 points...not only that, scroll down and you will see that he is listed as a "cult/star player".... EXACTLY what the Canucks need. We already traded our one cult star in Kassian, so we need another one to replenish our starved fans. Crom! for GM for unearthing our own prospects. Where was the Canucks scout staff on this? The Russian Duncan Keith is right under our noses. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=9567

Koltsov made $2.1 million USD last year. There's a very real possibility that he would come to the NHL for a raise. Only thing is he is 32 and probably wants to settle down. Instead of coming here for 2 or 3 years just to go back.
