2015-2016 trading chips

#1. Alex Edler.........................value 2016-1st + a top prospect + 2017 - 2nd

Suitors..............................Colorado, Dallas, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Phili

Colorado offers ..........2016 1st, M.Grigorenko, 2017-2nd

Dallas offers................2016 1st, J. Honka, 2017-2nd

Edmonton offers..........Draisaitl

Ottawa offers...............2016 1st, C. Lazar

Phili offers...................2016 1st, R.Hagg, 2017-2nd

Vancouver would take Edmontons if offered, but takes Dallas's as it would be the best one offered.

#2. R. Vrbata..........................value mid to late 2016-1st or 2016-2nd + 2017-3nd

Suitors............................. Montreal, Chicago, NYI, NYR, Nashville

I actually don't think anyone offers a 1st...........all will offer 2016-2nd + 2017-3rd

Vancouver takes Montreal as it is the best pick.

Vancouver drafts from 4thOA to 8thOA, has multiple picks, and looks to the future to continue to rebuild.

Alternate Universe

Vancouver does only minor moves, finishes bad and has the 9thOA pick in the 2016-2017 draft, Vrbata walks and Hamhuis re-signs for 3 more years at 5.0 million per year, Miller gets injured, Markstrom suffers through long goal tending nightmare and records a 3.50+ GAA. and Save percentage of .882. Edler announces early retirement as his back requires season ending surgey.

After a 9 game point draught in the NHL, Virtanen scores 37 goals in the WHL in his second year after his draft.

Utica with many rookie AHL players, struggles as starting goalie hurts himself in second week of season.

Canucks trade a 2nd for a back-up goalie to replace Miller, as there is no one in Utica to bring up.

Linden enters Rogers Arena to jeers of 8,000 strong as Vancouver plays Carolina in tonight's game
