Maybe not next year, but very soon.. They beat us remember.

The Calgary fricken flames beat us think about that for a sec.

The flames werent going to suck forever, many years of great drafting and smart trades has made them pretty good team. It wouldn't surprise me if we get sweeped in the season series this upcoming season.

It's Eklund, wouldn't put much stock into this.

But anyways, wish Flames get him. Would mess up their cap situation.

Not to mention would make them even smaller. If Lucic wants to come home next summer Ferland will be completely irrelevant after trying to run around.

Lol, love how much of an effect Ferland had on this fan base.

He is a useless player when he can't charge.

EDIT: Actually, "useless" is a little much, but he is definitely not something we need an "answer" to. You know who we need an answer to? Sam Bennett and Dougie Hamilton

And that was a big deal? Maybe to the Canucks considering how poorly they competed.

Calgary is no juggernaut and as said, adding Skinner would make them even smaller and frailer.

Yea exactly. Ferland will think twice about charging if Lucic and Virtanen are on the team for 2016/17.

Smaller? Bouma, Ferland, Bollig, Englland beg to differ. Heck even Dougie is like 6'5. Hunter Smith will be a problem in a couple of years too.

I don't like it!

Yes smaller, which includes what they have now. Those four are bottom-half of the roster and Hunter Smith is a non-menacing twig -- his centreman Cassels is tougher. Dry out your panties.

Sam's 18 year-oldness greatly overwhelmed our defense. His youth is just too strong for us.

As both Calgary and Winnipeg were brought up, I'll comment as a Winnipeger. Only way Winnipeg even looks at doing this is if Carolina retains salary. The Jets are currently not a cap team and are already in the midst of trying to work out both a Ladd extension and a Byfuglien extension. The lack of a deal so far doesn't have to do with lack of cap space, but more with Chevy not wanting to overpay two players at 29 and 30 years old respectively; especially with Trouba, Scheifele, and Lowry set to become RFAs next season, who will all need increases in salary.

So, with the Jets facing said salary issues with the above 5 players (two UFAs and three RFAs), Skinner coming in would be at a retained salary. Long story short, I don't see a fit.
