Edlerberry
so jb got played to save 1.4m per year and get d depth and an early 2nd for a less offensive player and a late 3rd so the pens could sign fehr. we shoulda got the pick, not them.

Maniwaki Canuck
This is why you want cap space at this time of year.

Yeah, that downgrade from Anaheims 2nd to Buffalos 3rd really made the trade unbalanced. You just know theres going to be a ton of stars left at pick 58 that won't be on the board when we pick at 62! Seriously, people complain about everything
Guest
Pens did well today. Kessel, Bonino, Clendening, Erixon, Biggs, Fehr and picks for Sutter, Harrington, Spaling, Kapanen and picks. Great summer so far for them.
touchable
and an early 2nd Really? You see Anaheim finishing in the bottom of the league this year?

DeNiro
Would anyone really want a 30 year old signed for 3 more years? I thought we were trying to get out of those contracts, not sign more...
oldnews
Good deal for Pitts imo. Will need him with Sutter departing - and the deal to move him makes more sense.

If we'd traded Higgins for a pick, this would have been the ideal contract.

DownUndaCanuck
Savvy offseason for the Penguins. Crosby, Malkin, Bonino and Fehr is about as perfect a group of centers as there is in the league again. Bonino drops from a 2nd line center on a pathetic team to a 4th line center who will steal eat up 12ish minutes killing penalties.

Why are you assuming Anaheim will be at the top of the standings and Buffalo right at the bottom? Pretty likely Buffalo will do way better this upcoming season. Try thinking for yourself, stop blindly supporting management and using nonsense to challenge logical criticisms.
combover
People seem to forget the second we gave up was bieska so. Bonino bieska (frosling)clendening for sutter and a third. Yeah that sucks Benning the master at getting fleeced. Good the pens they get better and and for cheaper.

Kesler, Bieksa, Forsling (5th rounder prospect) for Sutter, McCann, a 3rd and Sbisa. Seems not as lopsided to me.
