Greenlight
Nikita Zhuldikov delivers a booming hit on Canucks prospect Jared McCann, which knocks the Canadian forward out of the game and hands the Russian defenceman a two-minute penalty and a 10-minute misconduct for the hit to the head. Dirty or clean? http://www.tsn.ca/hockey-canada/video/summer-showcase-in-game-zhuldikov-delivers-huge-hit-on-mccann~670915 UPDATE: McCann will be held out of the rest of Canada's national junior team summer development camp for precautionary reasons, Hockey Canada said Tuesday. Must be another concussion, horrible luck for Jared... http://www.nhl.com/ice/blogpost.htm?id=40904&navid=nhl:topheads
SaintPatrick33
This was definitely a clean hit, McCann was fed a suicide pass and didnt look up in time. The russians elbow was low and he did not leave his feet. Unfortunate play for McCann, but he has to learn that in the NHL you cannot keep your head down. Ironically this is the same type of play that Sutter had when Weight hit him coming across the middle. Hopefully McCann does not have a concussion. Ralph.
You pretty much nailed it, SP33. Definitely not dirty, just unfortunate.
falcon45ca
Clean! There has to be a better strategy for dealing with suicide passes.

deus.ex.makina
didn't like Roy and the other guy skating aside McCann without giving him a look. Clean hit for me, little bit of a suicidal pass but you can't skate with your nose in your feet in the middle of the ice. responsibility splitted between the guy who have made the pass and McCann. Mathew Barzal
http://www.nhl.com/ice/m_blogs.htm?id=40878 TL;DR Coach said Mccann would be fine, it was probably just a precaution to keep him out as he looked woozy getting up.
Odd.
Kinda didn't like the fact that Roy gave him a suicidal pass not to mention just skate past him while McCann on the ice rolling around in pain. At least help the guy out ffs

Baer.
Suicide pass and wasn't looking where he was going. Hit was a little high. Looks like he got the forearm up and that's why he was penalized. I think a 5 minute penalty would have been enough.

The russian player did leave his feet, think the call on the ice was justified. Don't think anything more is necessary. But I do agree, McCann gotta keep your head up. DIBdaQUIB
He had a concussion 2 years ago, as the effects are cumulative, I sure hope he doesn't have another one at this early stage of his career.

RUPERTKBD
Clean hit. Russian's feet were squarely on the ice at the time of impact. His skates only left the ice after the hit was delivered. The head might have been the principal point of contact, but it's pretty tough to tell. The zebras probably did the right thing by calling the penalty, just to make sure that things didn't get out of hand, but nothing dirty there at all, IMHO. But I do agree, McCann gotta keep your head up. His feet left the ice because of the hit. Zhuldikov is taller than McCann so why would he need to jump to make a hit, especially considering if he did, it would be his butt/waist that would hit McCann in the shoulder and not his arm. -AJ-
It was close, but Zhuldikov barely managed to keep his elbow down and get him with the shoulder. Shouldn't have even been a penalty.
