Buying a PC (help)

Yeah, that won't really do anything other than play games from many years ago, but if you need a dirt cheap computer this isn't bad.

If you want a dirt cheap gaming computer go quad core and find a decent graphics card. Maybe $130 for machine and $70 for card? You could probably play more recent games on low or medium (playable).

All I'm really into is Counter-Strike (have been since 1999.) and sometimes the odd game of LoL. I figure this setup should run 1.6 with absolute ease and play CSGO decently.. Or am I wrong?

you can run LoL on a loaf of bread, so that won't be an issue - but does 1.6 even exist anymore? I thought support for it was discontinued?

Super cheap, and probably worth at least that $110, but won't probably play any new high-end games. You might be able to get away with Minecraft or un-modded Skyrim, but a lot of newer games won't work too well. LoL is super easy to run; I doubt this would have trouble with that. I'm not sure how CS:GO's graphics are, so I can't say much on that.

Quite a few public servers in NA still around, and a ton in Europe. Competitive CS 1.6 (leagues/LANs) is dead though. It's a shame. CS is legendary. At least CSGO is somewhat decent.

It will runs csgo fine, that game is not that new and not that intense performance wise. I know a few guys that run it on 5 year old MacBook pros. For 110$ it's a decent deal. Really can't go wrong.

Advice from a once sworn PC user.

Buy a Mac.

Less headaches, more production.

The OP is trying to decide whether to spend $110 to play decade+ old PC games.

I'm going to go out on a limb and state that a) he can't afford a Mac, and B) "production" is not really a concern.
