D-Money
Odds at Bodog.ca for Canadian teams winning the Stanley Cup: Canadiens - 18-1 Flames - 28-1 Jets - 28-1 Oilers - 33-1 Senators 40-1 Canucks 66-1 Leafs 100-1 (Taken from http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/carey-price-montreal-canadiens-preview-1.3247182) Yikes. I expect us to be a bubble team, and probably not making the playoffs. But I also expect similar results from the Jets, Oilers, and Senators. That's quite a wide discrepancy though. EmilyM
Wow that's a terrible line on the Oilers for betters. Anyone who puts money on the Oilers winning the Cup deserves at least 100-1.

MJDDawg
So they're telling me there's a chance.....Yeaaaaaahhhhhh!
Fateless
That's a pretty ridiculous set of stats. Oilers were an awful team last year and have not even played a game since their last bottom of the pack finish - all the sudden they have double the odds of winning a cup over the Canucks who were 7th overall at the end of the regular season? Okay...
Tortorella's Rant
That's crap, but whatever.

Okay... They, like everyone else, are too busy with their hard on over McDavid expecting him to post Crosby+ like rookie numbers and thus magically turn them into a playoff team. Anyone who puts money on the Oilers winning the Cup deserves at least 100-1. Well, there's always the chance that McDavid will be the 2nd coming of Lemieux, and the other kids will click and take it up a notch too. Is it likely? No. But is it twice as likely as the team that has gone 3-14 in their last 17 playoff games suddenly making a cup run? ...Possibly.

Odds are affected by who is betting what. So a lot of people putting down money on the Oilers simply because of McDavid should raise the odds higher than they'd be objectively. VegasCanuck
Oilers will be a good team this year and probably a force next year. Not saying I'm happy about that, but let's be realistic. That much talent with the new management team, something has to happen!
milk and honey
difference with oilers is they are surely gonna get better on of these seasons and they have a ton of assets to get some nhl experience if they wanted to. Not to mention they have a decent coach for once although tough to say how he will handle the west. Ottawa in the east but even then the odds are high. They won't win the cup so doesn't matter either way. Winnipeg traded Kane who was cancer apparently got some decent pieces back. They work hard, hard to play against, some young players and about to have a breakout year. Makes sense for their odds same with Calgary. Montreal is actually very fair. at the end of the day who really cares about odds. Tons of times they are wrong.
Pavel.10.Bure
I don't see the surprise as to why the Oilers should be better. That much talent + New "LEGIT" Coach + New GM.
Dragonfruits
I don't see the surprise as to why the Oilers should be better. That much talent + New "LEGIT" Coach + New GM. that hasn't played 1 single regular season game let's face it they are using preseason to judge how the regular season will go just like some posters

Sean Monahan
Canucks have terrible odds at winning the Cup? I must living in an alternate reality. I don't think it's the team's odd in themselves that have people pissed so much as the fact the oilers have twice as good the odds.
Mathew Barzal
I don't think it's the team's odd in themselves that have people pissed so much as the fact the oilers have twice as good the odds. HK Phooey
Who cares how long the odds are? It just means a better pay day when the Canucks close it out this spring... Okay. That was my apollo moment. On paper, the Canucks haven't improved a whole lot whereas the other Canadian teams have. Thank goodness this game is played on ice and not on paper. But all things being what they are, Canucks will struggling to make the playoffs, so the bodog line seems to be in line.
